Prague - A 32-year-old Czech tried to commit suicide by cutting his throat with a chain saw but survived after the machine missed his jugular artery and got stuck in his spine, a report said on Wednesday.

This was his second suicide attempt, CTK news agency reported. He had earlier tried to hang himself from a tree branch but the branch snapped and he broke both legs in the fall, it said.

The man was taken to a Prague hospital and was recovering in an intensive care unit, hospital officials said.

Family problems were the likely reason for his suicide attempts, CTK reported. His first suicide attempt came after his wife threatened to divorce him and take their daughter with her.

So, nobody 'saw' that coming.

Seriously, I hope he recovers.

Two attemtps batting zero, obviously he's not meant to die, he must face his challenges and resolve the issues instead of wimping out.

I am normally against "assisted suicide", but for this guy, I could make an exception.

His nickname is lucky.

in my opinion suicide attempts are a cry for help and usually not intended to be carried out, not really sure about the hanging but it takes some conviction to imbed a chainsaw into your spine. this guy now has everything to live for imho

Hopefully his third try with succeed.

My advice to dimwit in CZ.

1. Climb to highest point on a cliff well over 100 feet tall.

2. Look down to make sure the coast is clear.

3. Jump.

LOL..you're kidding, right? Some suicide attempts are a cry for help, but the guy who blows his brains out in a hotel room? That's no cry for help, that's a statement he wants to be dead.

His nickname is lucky.

I'd refer to him as Morris. He's got seven lives left.

This brings back memories of the Seinfeld episode where George can't get himself fired. "Bodysuit Man!"
