I hate advice like this -- it just gives a green light to armed robbers.
I'd say each person has to make their own, personal decisions in that situation -- trust your instincts. (Yeah, I've faced an attempted street robbery or two.)
Yes it is. It was posted the other day when the news broke.
Having said that.....
Send him down here to Texas. We'll take care of him the proper way.
(Meek! Texas Ping?)
We have way too many photos of perps in the MSM, and way too few photos of the people they hurt.
I hope Mr. Fleming is a writer like Jack Abbott. We can watch everyone at the New York Times heads explode when they have to choose between the "aspiring actress" victim and the "artist" criminal.
These idiots think that they are God.....They are too stupid to know that they will be before God shortly.
Absolutely. I hope those attempted street robberies weren't in Indiana? Where do you live, Gary?
"The police said that Mr. Fleming might be affiliated with a gang but that it did not appear to have played any role in the shooting"
I guess the four Clowns that were with him were just "Innocent Bystanders"
As a Father I can only comment that the Law will never extract enough punishment to satisfy me, Lynching wouldn't be good enough.
My prayers for the Parents of this young Lady.
There are reasons for that:
A) A perp walk picture allows potential jurors to see the suspect before he's cleaned up by his lawyer and given a pair of glasses to wear in court.
B)Seeing pictures of the suspect might prompt other victims to come forward and identify him.
Bet these 'safety' officers would like to revisit that day. When someone has gone over the edge, displaying a desire for suicide by cop, I think you should oblige them.
What the heck kind of crime reporting is this?
Is this article an example of how The New York Times reports any and all criminal arrests in NYC?
Excellent advice (post #8)
No -- I faced some street crime in Chicago and Evanston, IL, where I used to live and work. I'm glad to say they never got a dime from me, but that was partly through luck, not skill.
We really don't have any crime in my small Indiana town -- not since that day in the 1930's when a gang tried to rob the local bank. Concerned citizens grabbed some guns from the nearby hardware store and shot a couple of the robbers as they exited the bank. The rest were quickly captured.
Not everyone is equipped to fight it out with robbers, so this is good advice.
My mother was 70 when a street thug threatened her. She handed him her purse with her Social Security check in it without a second thought and he kept running down the street, leaving her unscathed. She was a mouthy lady, we were all so relieved that she did the sensible thing, thereby saving herself injury or worse.
Really. Have you ever seen a suspect addressed as "Mr. Fleming" before?
Stupid cheap punk, he will have years to regret that moment in prison. I would wish him a miserable life as a bitch in prison but it would not bring back the beautiful young woman he murdered. That is the problem with doing something really wrong, it haunts you forever and nothing ever really makes it right.
