I read in some liner notes (maybe for their box set) that Pete did regret the incident with Hoffman, and it was a "get the f**k off my stage kind of thing"
Pete's (and Roger's) views probably align more with Hoffman's than mine, but at least they didn't join any Rock Against Bush tours last year.
Actually, Roger's first solo album was self-titled and featured songs from Leo Sayer. It was very good, but I don't think I've ever seen it on CD.
The front of the sleeve had a photo of him shot from the front and the back had him from the back.
The biggest single was "Giving It All Away."
Long Live Rock!
Cheers

Live at Leeds rules. They don't make 'em like that anymore.
Very few bands have the ability to jam on stage, playing their own instruments, for an indefinite amount of time without boring the crowd.
Wow! He looks great!
I was never a Who fan but I LOVED Daltrey on the Highlander TV series. He was fantastic!
Ditto! This is the greatest knowledge resource there is. I am humbled to have been able to contribute even in so small and nit picky a way!
Cheers
Jim
Meher Baba was from India & Pete used him as some sort of "spiritual leader" and said of him; "Baba is the Avatar of the age-the messiah". However blasphemous, Pete thought highly of him and Baba did get Pete to renounce dope and to look at the "love" generation with a skeptical eye.
Pete had many portraits of Baba in his house. Baba O'Riley was actually named after Meher Baba and some obscure composer named Terry Riley.
Whether all of Baba's influence was good, I don't know. His dislike for drugs has probably kept Pete alive all these years!
That pic of Daltry is probably only the third time I have seen him in a suit, the other two times were for Keith and John's funeral.
Do yourself a favor and go buy the reissued, remastered extended version of "Live at Leeds" The entire concert
, including all of Tommy.
Have alook at the reviews

Do you have more of these good stories?!
I was just watching my Special Edition DVD set the other night! And then there's the DVD from their Boston show in 2002!
Well, last year there was some brouhaha when Michael Moore made up some story about why Townshend wouldn't let him use "Won't Get Fooled Again" in that pile of steaming dung, Fahrenheit 9/11. So, Pete came out and wrote a long explanation of what really occurred -- and admitted that he was in favor of the Iraq war, at least before the WMD crap that the left pushed.
Quadrophenia, my all time favorite.
When it came out in 72? I went thru 4 - 8 trak tapes that summer, wore them right out.
One fall day I pulled onto a beach down on Cape Cod, pulled the big speakers out of my car and listened to the whole thing watching the ocean waves crashing.
I wasn't even high..
It's on CD -- and I have it, of course. ;D
How cool!
