The Iraqi Survey Group also found that supposed "humanitarian" imports under Oil-for-Food gave Saddam the ability to restart his biological and chemical warfare programs at a moment's notice. Spertzel said what scared him the most in Iraq was the discovery of secret labs to make deadly weapons like the nerve agent, sarin, and the biological poison, ricin, in spray form.
"If that were released in a closed [area], such as Madison Square Garden or, even some, some of your smaller closed malls, shopping malls, it would have a devastating effect killing hundreds or thousands," Spertzel said.
But Spertzel believes Saddam was cooking up an even more sinister plan putting the poisons on department store shelves across the United States and Europe. He said that plan was "actively pursued" as late as March 2003. And that plan was at least, in part, funded by Saddam's corrupt Oil-for-Food activities.
"Some of the photographs that were obtained from this same laboratory had multiple different shapes of glass spray bottles, perfume spray bottles presumably to mimic different brand names," Spertzel said. "Can you imagine somebody going into Macy's department store and spray a little bit of a perfume to see whether they like the scent, only instead of perfume they're getting a face full of sarin?
"That would kill within, within a few minutes. If this were to appear at a couple different locations, imagine the economic impact in the U.S. people would be afraid to buy anything."

Note that Saddam was pursuing this even as late as March 2003!

I'm shocked, I tell you, shocked!!! Saddam had it in for the US? (I'm also available to buy a bridge, too)
Sarin in perfume bottles? What an idiot that I didn't finish the novel five years ago.
Yeah, but he was no threat. It should be apparent that Iraq is nowhere near being a useless war with no reason to have taken out the regime. I see the media doesn't want to discuss any of this because to them Bush just made up all the WMD claims. Iraq was never a threat, just one made up by the administration. The Demonrat party doesn't have to answer to their own statements when they call Bush a liar.
Just repeat after me: "Saddam did not have WMD, Saddam was not involved in terrorism". (Dem Mantra)
Obviously putting sarin in perfume bottles and releasing them in the US is not an act of terror and sarin doesn't count as a WMD. (more Dem view)
If the MSM journalists had any claim to journalism and any honesty, they would have read through the report carefully and would have written about it. Do you recall the headlines, that the report proved that Saddam had no WMD and was not pursuing terrorism? The exact opposite of what the report really said.
I was surprised to see this story come out now... now I think I understand.
If true, from this the numerous co-conspirators in Oil For Food are guilty of far more than simple corruption and this fact makes the case for far more aggressive actions to root out and punish those involved.
What I would like to know, why didn't this story come out right after the report came out?
What else is in that report about Saddam's WMD, that we don't know about?
What's that you say - when h*ll freezes over?
And we'll cut off payment to the UN when?
The entire UN leadership who had anything to do with Oil-for-Food should be put on trial for supporting terrorism -- that is exactly what they were doing, by knowingly (there is no way they didn't know) allowing Saddam to divert billions.
Isn't David Asman from FNC suppose to do a show tonight about this??
*BUMP*! . . .
I think the Oil for Food scandal will be on at FoxNews on Sunday, 9 pm EST.
But FoxNews mentioned this today in one of their news segments. That's what sent me searching for an article on the web, so I can post it.
And those state of the art chemical suits found in Iraq were really for the Fashion Show that Saddam and his sons planned on having
why would the MSM even look into this?? They don't have the manpower or time as they are too busy making up bogus stories on our President and troops...
