Tancredo considers White House bid

Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., fresh from victory in three online presidential straw polls over formidibale candidates, told Joseph Farah's radio audience today he would run for president in 2008 if no other Republican candidate takes the border issue seriously.
"I'll tell you what," he said, "if no one else does, I will do it."
Tancredo is the head of the House Immigration Reform Caucus and has challenged his own party's president on the issue of insecure border and his proposed "guest worker" proposal.
Tancredo said he was encouraged by President Bush's recent meeting with Mexican President Vicente Fox because the U.S. leader told his counterpart he would continue to push for more lenient immigration policies but would not guarantee they would be approved by Congress.
The Colorado congressman said he believes Bush was signaling defeat and giving permission to GOP dissenters to vote their conscience on the issue.

I'd definitely vote for him, given what I know about him now, and barring any really nasty skeletons in his closet, or him "Going round the bend" as Buchannan, Keyes and Perot did when they actually started running for President.
Lots could happen in the next three years that could make him a shoe-in or make it impossible for him to win. Anyone definitively saying now that it is impossible for him to win is a short-sighted fool, no matter how astute politically they may be:
"Stuff Happens". And I have a bad feeling that bad "Stuff" is going to happen because of the border situation in the next couple of years, and if it does, it will make all the difference in the 2008 elections. .
I'd hate to have to choose between Condi and Tom Tancredo, should she decide to run. I guess it is a good thing that VP Cheney isn't going to run for President... I'd never be able to make that decision.
In fact, a "Dream Ticket" for me, a paleo-conservative border state dweller would be a Condi / Tancredo or Tancredo / Condi ticket... Condi for her skill, smarts and personality at handling international matters, and Tancredo for dealing with domestic issues.

Is he a straight-out Paleocon? Or is he a standard conservative ... Mid-octane conservative. VoteMatch

Ditto Leatherneck -- I'll vote for him, chance or not.
We have to take back our country and you have to start somewhere.

People are stupid. They can't pronounce his name and he looks silly on TV. Thus, he has no chance.
Next.

Gonzales who not only shows up at La Raza(The Race) functions, he puts them on a pedestal. Gonzales spoke to La Raza with a warning to the Latino community to watch out for drugs, gangs, and crime. Dubya spoke at La Raza back in 2000. Obviously Dubya and Gonzales do not view La Raza as a racist organization. You can be sure they would not speak at white supremest function.

To paraphrase something Jim Robinson said, "what we need to do more than anything else is work to clear out as many of the left wing, activist judges as possible. As long as they prevent any type of control (such as Prop. 187) of the social programs, nothing will change. Get rid of activist judges and things will begin to fall into place."
Sadly, some people just want everything to happen at the snap of a finger or would rather simply complain about the situation.

I suspect if you were alive in 1776 you would have considered the patriots task impossible therefore you would have sided with the British? I suspect if you were alive in 1876 you would have told Custer "That scout is full of it . The indians will be no trouble."

Running Tancredo will do three things. He will ensure Hillary Clinton becomes the next PresidentYou've given them both too much credit.

Ross Perot didn't get where he is by being an idiot or a nut case as the Pub's and Dem's made him out to be. He has become a nut case over time. It happens. Business sense doesn't always make political sense. Witness George Soros. A wack job if there ever was a wack job. He's a frickin billionaire.

If Tancredo doesn't disavow these racists, he will be labeled the next David Duke by the MSM. When Ronald Reagan learned that out-of-mainstream right wingers were backing him he stated something along the lines of "I'm glad they've seen the light and joined us."
Maybe somebody can find the quotation or source.
