Tancredo considers White House bid

Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., fresh from victory in three online presidential straw polls over formidibale candidates, told Joseph Farah's radio audience today he would run for president in 2008 if no other Republican candidate takes the border issue seriously.
"I'll tell you what," he said, "if no one else does, I will do it."
Tancredo is the head of the House Immigration Reform Caucus and has challenged his own party's president on the issue of insecure border and his proposed "guest worker" proposal.
Tancredo said he was encouraged by President Bush's recent meeting with Mexican President Vicente Fox because the U.S. leader told his counterpart he would continue to push for more lenient immigration policies but would not guarantee they would be approved by Congress.
The Colorado congressman said he believes Bush was signaling defeat and giving permission to GOP dissenters to vote their conscience on the issue.

And Bush and Gonzales are very popular, to the point of Gonzales speaking glowingly about them, with La Raza. Tancredo is popular with a lot of groups, but I don't see him showing up at a KKK function, unlike Mr. La Raza himself, Gonzales who not only shows up at La Raza(The Race) functions, he puts them on a pedestal.

However, I did listen to Morris Day and the Time in my misspent youth. ;-)

Having followed Tom's career I've never seen evidence of racism. Although I'm current in Texas my legal residency is Colorado.

Even if he does not get the nomination he brings a very valid point to the party. A point that had better not go unheeded.

Both Tancredo and Buchanan are very popular with the white supremacists. Hillary Clinton and the Democrats are very popular among hard-core criminals but that didn't stop her from advocating looser voting restrictions for ex-felons.

Gonzales who not only shows up at La Raza(The Race) functions, he puts them on a pedestal.I don't care for Gonzales and I'm very disappointed in Bush with respect to Mexico.
I'm for immigration restrictions, including deportation of all illegals and make them apply for legal visas just like everyone else.
That being said, like Buchanan, I'm afraid that Tancredo is the wrong messenger. We need another Reagan, not a Goldwater, in order to win.

I suspect if you were alive in 1776 you would have considered the patriots task impossible therefore you would have sided with the British?
Would you vote for Jeb after his most recent debacle? Even if you and I and all informed voters see him as a weak and useless Governor with respect to the issue of life?
I see you and many on these threads as front-runners, like Jeb Bush, guys that can't wait to jump on the bandwagon and manage their decisions by the latest poll, but are unwilling to stake their future on the tough decisions that are required of a free people who desire to remain free.
If I am wrong or too vociferous please disabuse me of my understanding.

I noted that Bush standing next to Vincente the Fox had that deer in the headlights look again. He had better take his own party seriously on this one.

Re: your tagline: Bush is my president, but he needs to quit with the "Amnesty" and protect our borders.
I agree. If it weren't for his amnesty of illegal aliens and the lax borders, I'd be behind him 100%. Have supported him on all issues except his guest-work proposal with eventual amnesty/naturalization.
The problem with his guest worker or "entry and exit" program he has proposed is that it's all entry and no exit. Once the 3rd world immigrants come in, no one will be able to make them go back.

GOA's a little lenient on some, and too tough on others.
At least McCain finally got an F-. It took them long enough to give him that. Bill Nelson and Jon Corzine deserves an F too, not NR. Snowe and Collins need F's. Baucus has been decent since 94 and I'd grade him higher than an F.
I don't pay much attention to ratings from NRA or GOA. C's, D's, and F's make me look harder at a candidate, but isn't the begin or end all. I'm on a state level PAC in Michigan. We had our first endorsements and didn't use grades. We did not endorse anyone(outside of Bush or judges) who did not turn in a survey. We also rated simply 'acceptable', unacceptable, or in rare cases, mixed. You can see how we did it at the link.

"La Raza"
La Raza is a racist organization and they make no bones about it. La Raza means The Race.
