Post Office War on Christmas

While the U. S. Postal Service still issues a Christmas stamp, note the poster in many post offices advertising its seasonal stamps.
At the top of the poster is an stamp featuring cookies. Then comes the Hanukkah stamp, only then the Christmas stamp, then the Kwanzaa and Eid (Moslem holiday) stamps. Here's the rub. All holidays are clearly labeled on the poster: Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Eid--except for the Christmas stamp. That one is labeled "Madonna and Child." They won't use the "C" word on the poster (though it is used on the stamp).

I can't imagine Madonna being on a stamp.

No. But we are not stupid and we do see differences.

It does initially seem a tad "over focused" as to complaint, until you realize that the time and attention to other holidays and celebrations is given a lot of thought (and money) to produce stamps for nearly everything, and that they include the name of the holiday along with various images.
Even "Black History Month" -- which I disagree with for the same reasons that actor Morgan Freeman recently explained he does (another FR thread somewhere, a week or two ago) -- has the title accompanying the image.
CHRISTMAS requires stating the word, "CHRIST" (d'oh) and the atheists will melt if they.ever.read.that.again...
Yes, it's editing that is objectionable by the U.S. P.O. and I've previously made similar complaints to them, after asking for "special stamps" for Easter and Christmas and being offered Black History Stamps, Native American Baskets stamps and the like, but, nothing with Christian reference or imagery, much less the words, "Christ" or "Christian."
We can say "Kwanzaa" and "Chanukah" and "Allah" and whatever but just try and say, "Jesus Christ" or even "CHRISTMAS" on anything "official" and see what complaints ensue.
We need to make our complaints louder, as to why Christ can and should be mentioned and as often as anyone cares to.

You have a problem with the stamps at the Post Office, huh?
I've got something you might like to lick.
If this doesn't get me a timeout, nothing will.

Where's the Festivus stamp?

I saw the same poster you saw and it didn't offend me at all.
You had to be LOOKING for something to offend you to be offended by that.

I'm offended that they have Kwanza stamps. The holiday from the town of make believe.

Nah. We don't have to. Freepers find it for us:') People still go to post offices though? I can't rember the last time I was in one. For a few cents more you can go to to the UPS store and avoid the lines. They even, smile and talk to you.

So I guess the post office is anti-Israel hmm? Or maybe they're against people owning guns?
Please, step away from the crackpipe..

You don't need a stamp. You have your pole outside. Where's the Christmas tree though?
