Clint Taylor is an alumnus leading the fight against Mr. Rahmatullah's acceptance. He has a number of columns on Townhall about the issue, in addition to the "Nail Yale" blog with up-to-the-minute developments. I may post some important blog links in the near future, so if you are interested, stay tuned.
I heard someone say on the news that this man had a fourth grade education. I don't know, however, if he meant that literally or if he was just being sarcastic because I didn't heard the entire segment.
One news development for yesterday was a poll of Yale students on the Hashemi issue published by the Yale Herald. The poll is interesting but the methodology isn't reliable (as they admit), so I don't expect it to have a major impact on the debate. The response rate was interesting: nearly a third of the student body decided to write in, so it is clearly a topic of some interest on campus. Highlights: SHOULD YALE HAVE ADMITTED SRH TO THE NONDEGREE PROGRAM? Yes: 51. 16%; No 25.71%; Don't Know 20.03%. There is slightly less support for keeping SRH on for another year: 42% support keep him on, almost 30% say don't, and 21% don't give too much of a rip. About fifty percent of Yalies responding thought there had been too much media coverage. About twenty percent are "embarrassed" by having SRH on campus; 18% are "proud", and 52% are neutral. Two more interesting facts after the jump:
No he has a 4th grade education equivalent due to Taliban schools. However he had on the job training (apprenticeship) so he can function as an adult in writing papers etc I assume.
Clint posted the same information on Nail Yale. Interesting stuff--particularly the decreased support for keeping SRH around.
While it is interesting to note... frankly, I don't care what his education is. He could be the leading Afghani scholar for all I care. The fact is that he will not apologize for his relationship with the Taliban.
Remember, those are the same idiots who will be reviewing all the amnesty applications for our new Mexican friends over the next few years.
A 3.3? Yikes. Any idea what classes he is enrolled in?
Well...it's not like the Taliban had any sort of operational relationship with al Qaeda or anything....
What a frightening thought.
I may try to contact Clint Taylor to see if he knows any details about the visa, in addition to researching it a bit myself. I'll be in touch.
Nor do I. But it would be a further statement about Yale's priorities. And show how much they're willing to lower their standards to meet their priorities.
He went back and got a high school equivalency diploma. (GED type thing)
I don't know if it's accurate to call him " unapologetic "
That's not quite the impression I got from the original long article. (though I realize it was a liberal publication)
#13 was meant for you
Apparently he had a liberal (leftist) sponsor who could grease the wheels of government.
"To date, Mr. Rahmatullah has not apologized or taken responsibility for his support of this brutal regime, though he told the Times he wished hed been "a little bit softer" in his advocacy." --from Clint Taylor's March 8th column, the first of his many columns on this issue

An Afghani GED, right? I wonder what's involved with that test...
Thanks. How many Yale students have their GED?
Given his past, Hashemi should be a shoo-in for membership in...
wait for it...
Skull and Crossbones!
Cheers!
