Stopping illegal immigration is actually quite simple:
America gives billions of aid to Mexico each year.
Pass a law that, for every illegal immigrant caught trying to cross the border, $100,000 will be deducted from the aid.
In 1 day, Mexico will stop all illegal immigrants. They will build a wall faster than you can think.
Any thoughts?
No free medical care for illegals, no free education for illegals and no automatic citizenship for those born her of illegals.
I heard on Lou Dobbs that the wall in SanDiego is working beautifully, and that the Minutemen were going to ask for private donations to build a wall.
I am willing to bet that Govt wouldn't do what you propose.
But the point is we need a wall and fast!
Our government likes illegal immigration. The Republicans see profits from cheap labor for their big business contributors, and the Democrats see future Democratic voters. No one in D.C. represents the interests of the American middle class.
You do the math.
Your facts are way off. US foreign aid is 27 billion for the planet earth. Most goes to Israel, Egypt, and until recently palestine. Africa also gets a lot. From the stats that I could find, foreign aid to mexico is less than 100 million per year.
Don't they make more money with illegal immigration than aid?
I'll help to build the wall, if the minutemen organize it.
That's because they don't want a middle class. The want Mexico part 2.
Great! Drop them an email. And thanks!
We would have to try to catch them. The problem isn't Mexico. The problem is our lack of will about the issue. And, if we were willing to catch them, we wouldn't have to penalize Mexico.
"Pass a law that, for every illegal immigrant caught trying to cross the border, $100,000 will be deducted from the aid."
They couldn't pay 100,000 pesos per wetback. They would owe us trillions and have to send millions of people here to work off the debt.

Hell, I'm going to be training in a helicopter soon...I would love to help out in this area. I'm eagerly awaiting this sort of opportunity. Till then I'll email them, and keep my eyes open for any other real way to help.
*Suggestions...read the whole thing to understand. Of coarse this may make oil relations a bit tight, but Mexico needs to recongnize it's part in this.

1. For each Mexican national caught sneaking into the United States illegally deduct the cost of that persons apprehension and from US Aid to Mexico.
2. For each Mexican national caught working in the United States illegally deduct the cost of his apprehension, his wages stolen from a US worker, and the cost of his deportation from US Aid to Mexico.
3. For each Mexican national caught using the United States health care illegally deduct the cost of the health care provided, his apprehension, wages earned, and deportation costs from US Aid to Mexico.
4. For each Mexican national caught illegally embedded in an American welfare system deduct any funds given to that person or family, the cost of apprehension, wages earned while illegally employed in the US, and deportation costs from US Aid to Mexico.
5. For each Mexican national caught illegally embedded in Americas educational system deduct the cost of education, a fine for taking up a seat which was intended for an American, the cost for apprehension & deportation and any or all aspects from above which apply.
When the US Aid to Mexico runs out, and it will, Mexico receives a bill from the United States for our costs of their illegal immigrants. If the bill for immigration enforcement is unpaid economic sanctions are placed on Mexico. To provide incentive any Federal or State agency or law enforcement department who apprehends and deports an illegal is entitled to the monies associated with that persons apprehension and deportation. Citizens would be entitled to a share of the reward for turning in those people they know are illegally in the United States from the agency they report that persons presence to.
A lot of foreign aid is really corporate welfare. The country gets a credit to buy certain things from US companies, usually defense contractors. When I had a Fulbright to Israel in the summer of 1983, it was partly a way to pay back. That was the summer Israel invaded Lebanon, and when we heard fighters roar overhead, the cabinet secretary would say, be glad. That's jobs for Boeing.
I am so for this idea. If the citizens want a wall, then build it. Sit back and wait for the government to do it and it will take five years and cost billions.
They pay tax? Maybe.
Do they consume tax revenue (at hospital, etc)? A CERTAINTY.
