At least someone in Congress is doing something:

The election of Bilbray a few days ago and the replacement of the Mayor voting solely on this issue

In between those two (and virtually unreported) was Nebraska Football G-d
Tom Osborne being defeated in the Neb. Republican primary for Governor.
The victor's veto for in-state tuition for the children of illegals
(and Osborne's support for it) sent Tom packing.

I still can hardly believe there'd be an office in Nebraska that
Tom Osborne could not win.

Time to let the House members know how we feel, again.

I heard Kenny Hulshof (sp?), Republican Representative of Missouri saying that
something new happened this year when he was giving high-school graduation
speeches.
After the speeches, he said the moms wanted to talk to him NOT about
their wonderful new graduate...
but were insistent on letting him know they want illegal immigration ended.
(build a wall, then fix the rest).

"Got a link to prove that?"

Yeah. It's at the same site for the link that proves your statement that Senators voted based on the desires of their contributers.

"And I guarantee, anything less than big bucks won't get you a call back from a politician."

Really?!?! You mean, if I call my Senator and ask him to return my call, he won't call me back right away? What the heck is up with that! I thought they just sat around all day waiting to chat with their millions of constituents. That makes it even harder to understand why all these sitting Congressmen enjoy such high approval ratings.

WSJ has dubious opinion polls.

The American people now have Rep. Bilbray, a defeated Tom Osborne in
the governor's primary in Nebraska, and a lot of Representatives
that got their ears bent on the topic of building a wall NOW during
visits home a few weeks ago.

I just hope the WSJ fails in their propaganda campaign.
(and I say that even though I otherwise like the WSJ)

Yep, the editors of the WSJ don't want to lose their nannies, maids and gardeners that we tax payers subsidize so these country clubbers don't have to pay a living wage. Nice try.

Nice attempt at sarcasm. Actually the public opinion polls on this issue have been stable for some time. Since I make it a point to back up my arguments here you go...http://www.fairus.org/site/PageServer?pagename=research_researchd74c

There IS a difference between being 'anti-Bush's immigration proposal' and simply being 'anti-Bush'. You do recognize the difference do you not? Or do you figure that playing stupid, excuses your obvious insult to those of us who happen to disagree with him?

The polls may be bogus and worthless, but I don't think our rejection of Bush's immigration stance is. How else do you explain the 'constant chorus' of squeeling around here by the handful of folks, clearly in the minority on this issue?

Forget about border security. Forget about the illegality. Forget about amnesty.

The Bush-Kennedy-Fox plan will break not fix social security and every other social program. It represents the greatest tax increase in the history of the world. That tax increase will fall more on state and local government which will face incredible pressure on existing services and programs as a result of this plan. If the accurate arithemetic could be done on the ramifications of this bill (and that is no small chore) and then presented to the American people, then NWO boys like the WSJ would not be offering polls which muddy that which would be perfectly clear to everyone. I say to Bush and Kennedy and Fox show me the arithemetic then take some polls.

It's mathematically impossible to increase an average by adding more values to the set which in themselves lie below the group average. Simply put, importing poverty and dependence will only get you more poverty and dependence.

"Since I make it a point to back up my arguments here you go..."

Nice try. What you actually do is toss out a bunch of rhetoric and ignore your own "arguments". To refresh your memory, your argument was that "Senators voted based on the desires of THEIR contributors." You made that point to counter my statement that Senators enjoy high favorability ratings from their constituents. Since I actually do backup MY statements with FACTS, here you go.... Approval Ratings of All 100 Senators

Based on their personal approval ratings, it would appear a vast majority of Senators vote based on the concerns of their constituents.
