The annulment nitemare has come to an end. Thanks be to God! Thank you to all who've been praying for us since our Journey began in Feb 2004. If all goes well and there are no more paperwork snafu's, visualops and I will have our marriage convalidated and I will be brought into the fullness of the Catholic Church.

If two people are drunk when they're married, is their marriage valid? Most people would say no, thus recognizing the principle of null marriages.

The Catholic Church recognizes what is obvious to most people, that marriages may be invalid. But the Church recognizes greater grounds for invalidity.

For example, before defining an invalid marriage, marriage itself must be defined. If marriage is defined as the union for life of two people for the begetting and raising of children, then a marriage may be invalidated if one or both participants enters marriage seeing it as a temporary condition, or rejects the possibility of children altogether.

These are the main principles of invalidity recognized by the Church, but there are others.

Well I know my brother tried for 4 years to get an annullment. he had legal justification for it too.

He kept trying til he got the price down an finally got it.

Now Kennedy? he was married for 25 years. Now I dont care what the justification a 25 year marriage should stick. Noannulment here. Kerry he wanted a richer wife. Aristotle wanted to marry Jackie Kennedy just to say he owned her and she made 12 million off the deal, I doubt the marriage was ever consummated.

Mistakes can be made and for certain reasons some marriages should be annulled. Some others shouldnt.

Maybe in some dioceses, but apparently not ours. We put in for reduced fees and they were reduced a negligible amount. They were expensive.
