"Yes, I do care. I worked quite hard to keep it from happening. But due to people like you who insisted so strongly that everything was just peachy, we lost. That is why it is so funny to see you guys keeping up your 'good' work."

How's that working out?

Now you'll get it with cheese.

Maybe. Maybe not. I think the President may come to understand that if he signs an amnesty bill he can forget about the Republican Party getting more than an occasional job as a dog catcher.

Weiner said it again today. He said he thought Bush purposefully tried to get the dems elected in Congress so they would pass his immigration issue. As if that is the sole issue Bush cares about and is more important to him than terrorism, wiretapping, Iraq, taxes, SC judges, John Bolten, his legacy, etc etc Incredible.

Here in Texas it is working quite well. We delivered on our end of the deal and sent some good Republicans back to Washington. And no, it was not easy.

What did you deliver?

Anybody know what this post is about?

32 House seats and 6 Senate seats to gain control isn't "squeaking".

Did you hear the interchange Savage played between Bush and that reporter?

Based on the answer Bush gave, Savage was correct in at least raising the idea.

I can't say I agree that it's true: but why would Bush say he would have a better chance of passing an immigration bill now?

It was a curious answer from Bush.

Okay, you have said alot of nonsense here.

Savage was never for a progressive tax. (sheesh)

Savage's favourite conservative was Goldwater. He speaks of him often.

Then you mixed up alot of your personal views with what you think of Savage's views. It's a little jumbled. (I'm not trying to criticize, just explain, because it's an interesting post)

Because it doesn't cover the whole border and he has no intention of funding it.

Considering what could have happened....it was.

Bush said it because it's true. On that one issue he agrees with many dems. I may not like it but Bush told the truth. Bush will likely get his amnesty passed now and wouldn't have before because of the House.

What in the world does that have to do with Weiner's absurd claim that Bush purposefully tried to get dems elected? In making such a stupid comment Weiner ignores Iraq, terrorism, wiretapping, taxes, social security reform, Supreme Court Judges, Bolten, energy and countless other issues Bush is obviously at odds with the extreme leftist dem leadership on. If Bush wanted the dems to win why did he lose so much sleep campaigning on the road for Republicans?

So Weiner's statement reflects someone who is incapable of thinking about more than one thing at a time. He arrives at a bizarre conspiracy notion based on a single issue while ignoring countless other contrary issues that Presidents deal with. The guy has extremely shallow logical reasoning capabilities. He's just a pompous lightweight hothead. Anyone who accepts such a strange conspiracy notion is frankly quite stupid.

Q Scott, as you probably know, the Governor of South Dakota has now signed this abortion measure that the state legislature passed. Do you anticipate the administration will weigh in on this as it makes its way through the courts?

MR. McCLELLAN: Well, let me express to you the President's views. The President believes very strongly that we should be working to build a culture of life in America, and that's exactly what he has worked to do. We have acted in a number of ways, practical ways, to reduce the number of abortions in America. The President strongly supported the ban on partial-birth abortions. This is an abhorrent procedure, and we are vigorously defending that legislation. We have acted in a number of other ways, as well.

Now, I think this issue goes to the larger issue of the type of people that the President appoints to the Supreme Court. And the President has made it very clear he doesn't have a litmus test when it comes to the Supreme Court, that he will nominate people to the bench that strictly interpret our Constitution and our laws. But this is law that was passed by the South Dakota legislature and signed into law by the Governor of that state. And the President's view when it comes to pro-life issues has been very clearly stated, and his actions speak very loudly, too.

Q So, again -- now it's going to wend its way through the courts. Will the administration weigh in, in the appeals process that is going to inevitably --

MR. McCLELLAN: Again, this is a state -- this is a state law.

Q No, but it's going to become a federal matter --

MR. McCLELLAN: It's a state matter.

spokesman can't answer question. I did not know this. YET, The President has been against assisted-suicide and other state laws.
