Gathering of Eagles Has Antiwar Organizers on the Run!
Gathering of Eagles ^ | March 8, 2007 | GOE

Posted on 03/08/2007 4:42:43 PM PST by tgslTakoma

The communist, pro-terrorist group International ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism) seems to realize they are facing a hot LZ on March 17.

ANSWER has made significant changes in their plans since their initial announcement that they would hold their ‘antiwar’ rally at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Last week they changed the location of their rally from Constitution Gardens (East side of the Vietnam Memorial) to a park one block west of Memorial on Henry Bacon Drive.

Yesterday, ANSWER announced they are only going to use the Henry Bacon Drive park as a meeting point for their march to the Pentagon, rather than holding a rally there.

This does not change our plans at all.

While the Gathering of Eagles has put these communist terrorist lovers on the run, the danger to the memorials from ANSWER’s fellow travelers is growing. With each passing day, we are receiving reports of threats to desecrate the Vietnam Memorial and other Memorials. We pass this information to the Park Service for investigation.

ANSWER is asking their supporters to start arriving near the Vietnam Memorial at 8 a.m. on the 17th. They plan to start their march to the Pentagon at 12:30 p.m.. That means their people will be milling about for hours with nothing to do and may try to cause trouble.

It is imperative that the Eagles start gathering as early as possible Saturday (0700/7AM) morning and plan to stay all day.

Being that ANSWER has forsaken use of Constitution Gardens, the Gathering of Eagles has applied with the Park Service for a permit to use Constitution Gardens, an excellent location, as our rallying point and base of operations from which to spread out to protect the memorials. The Park Service should be able to tell us tomorrow (Friday) where we stand.

The anti-American left will be scattered around Washington on the 17th. The Fidel Castro groupies and Jane Fonda lovers at Code Pink will be meeting near the World War II Memorial Saturday morning before they join ANSWER’s march.

Another leftist group has plans to rally at the Lincoln Memorial near the Korean War Memorial.

When ANSWER’s march to the Pentagon is over, many of their people will be heading back across Memorial Bridge to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. We cannot let our guard down all day.

In addition to applying for Constitution Gardens, we have also applied for demonstration areas along ANSWER’s march route. Please note that we have advised the Park Service and the Pentagon that we will not be counter-protesting at the Pentagon. We would just be in the way when the leftists start trying to tear down the protective fences and the CS gas starts being used by law enforcement at the Pentagon parking area where the anti-war rally will be held.

Our plans have been slow to announce because ANSWER abuses the Park Service’s permit process by preventing other groups, like ours, from being able to obtain permits in a timely manner. Rest assured that all will be settled soon and we will soar like Eagles on March 17.

Please review our Mission Statement on www.gatheringofeagles.org to refresh the principles that under-gird Gathering of Eagles event…we hold the high ground but will be resolute in protecting our Memorials from desecration, damage, and dishonor.

Eagles Up!

Do we need a freeper ID?

My husband (familyman6) and I will both be there (just definitely found out we could do it).

Some folks know us, so we'll be recognized.

I haven't been keeping up with these threads, so my apologies if I sound stupid here..... :)

You don't NEED one, but I believe we are trying to have a table set up with sticky name tags for those that want them.

No legitimate question is stupid sounding. ;*)

My understanding is that there will be a table set up in our main area, Constitution Gardens, just east of the Wall.

Weather update folks. As of 1:21AM, Sat, morning, it has been raining, then sleeting, and then snowing. Check your weather forecasts on the Weather Channel, but it will be cold, only up to the low 40's. Good possibility of snow showers.

Ground will be saturated so wear boots, good socks (might need to bring another pair), hats, scarves, gloves, bring food, umbrellas (not the Neville Chamberlain kind), signs (use waterproof inks), flags, and your fighting spirits.

Time to show the commies, their stooges in the mainstream media, and America where the real Americans are.

Max Friedman, Vietnam journalist, 1970, father of OIF soldier, Josh.

I'll be joined by my daughter who has been supporting our troops since 2003.

Name tags are a good idea. make them large enough to read. Some of us older types use glasses and in the rain/snow, they get messy.

Geritol, yes; prune juice - a NO-NO!
