Seen from today, it is utterly amazing that this dip$#!+ was actually the Republican Senate leader!!!!!!!!

"VOTE RINO!

We'll put a sugar coating on the 'rat cyanide pill!"

I can promise you I will NOT vote for him!
Since I live in Oregon, that was an easy decision to make. ;o)

The only thing I can think of is, if his financial backers are fed up with his treachery, they pull their funding from him.

I’m surprised at Thad.

Well, I sure won’t speak for you, Slayer, but the Mississippi contigent mindlessly supported Lott long after his chicken feathers were visible to all. Noted that you are not one of them.

For those too young to recall, here is one of the nails in Lott’s coffin:

“The title is Schipper’s description of the Senate Republican leadership’s subversion of the House Republican efforts to hold a full-fledged impeachment trial of President Clinton on the floor of the U.S. Senate.

Schippers writes that he knew the fix was in at the first meeting the Judiciary committee Republicans had with Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott (R.-Miss.).
Lott opened the meeting by bluntly telling Congressman Henry Hyde, “Henry you’re not going to dump this garbage on us.”

Schippers, a Democrat, was shocked. The “garbage” that Lott referred to was the evidence developed by the Judiciary Committee that was so compelling that, despite all odds and against the effort of the Clinton PR machine, it had persuaded a majority of the Judiciary Committee and then a majority of the House of Representatives to vote articles of impeachment against a President for the first time in 135 years. Sellout lays out this evidence in compelling detail, making it an excellent reference source on the whole impeachment controversy.

Schippers and the House managers were convinced that, if they could present their case before the Senate, they would prevail there as well.

But, alas, they were not given that opportunity. Sen. Lott’s first proposal called for giving the House managers a single day to present their evidence and the Senate Democrats one day for rebuttal, with a final day scheduled for debate and a vote. No witnesses were to be called. “

I've been wondering the same thing - how do we get these people's attention? Mail or drop off letters taped to bricks (for the wall, of course) to their home district addresses? (Would never make it through if sent to the capitol). Maybe add a note on the bricks that these are ALL they will get contribution-wise until the duplicity stops, the border is secured and enforcement (years overdue) get a real priority. THEN we'll talk about other facets of "comprehensive" "immigration ""reform" (each word in that term being suspect at present).

You will find comfort in knowing that whether he runs again or not... he is finished as our Senator. I am active in this state and I can tell you that he has lost a good 65-70% of his support over this.

Lott sees himself as some sort of Statesman. He actually though he was solely responsible for saving the Union when he killed ‘toons trial. He is better than any of our dims... but just as dangerous to freedom. Who knows... maybe we can force him into an early retirement. His brother-in-law is worse that edweirds.

Lott will do whatever his handlers tell him to.

Hillary needs to deal both with talk radio and forums on the internet such as Free Republic.

As the Clinton m.o. is to let the dirty work be done by others, one can look for the attacks against talk radio to increase in both volume and intensity.

"Talk radio is "the people"...remember Trent..."WE, THE PEOPLE"?????

WE, THE PEOPLE, "select" talk radio by listening.

You--Trent, et al--are damned determined to eleminate "WE, THE PEOPLE" from the equation; and WE, THE PEOPLE, realize it.

WE, THE PEOPLE, have found a voice in talk radio. You don't like that, at all.

Lott was gonna retire, but was re-elected in 2006, so he is now riding out his final term anyway. He will be unresponsive to Mississippi voters and has a free hand to be as destructive to the GOP as he wants to be.

Me, too.

I sit in abject puzzlement of the people of Mississippi. How can you all sit there and let Lott make you look like...hate to say it....the hayseeds everyone else thinks you are?

I didn't vote for him the last time I could voted...before we moved to Fresno. I think now I'd vote for Bennie before I'd vote for Lott.

Start throwing out names of FORMIDABLE candidates that can threaten his chances in the primaries...

such as good conservative State Senators, etc...

This needs to be done NATIONWIDE!
