“the problem with talk radio” is that it tells us the CRAP you A$$’s are DOING! Yea, I can see how that is a problem for you Trent.

GET USED TO IT.

I do think that’s what it means.

I expect his good buddies Warner, Graham, Hagel, Snowe, etc. would join in support of the Fairness Doctrine, too.

Our rulers clearly don’t like it when we get snippy with them.

Elected officials who violate their oath of office to uphold the Constitution of the United States are a public disgrace.

They should be removed from office.

Their home offices hould be picked day and night to make the public aware of their arrogance and treachery.

This isn’t the first time Lott has put his foot in his mouth. He is on record as complaining about conservatives earlier.

“Talk radio is running America. We have to deal with that problem.”

Kinda ring a bell? It should. Just a couple of weeks ago, Chavez said the same thing about T.V. stations in Vensuala. And, then he "dealt" with the problem....sent in the troops.

I guess my (unfortunately) senator wants us to be the United States of LATIN America.

Lott and the rest of these old eructations (gaseous emissions from the gut) think of the Senate as an august, exclusive institution, with special rules, rights, and privileges, instead of a representative body of public servants, who owe their allegiance to the Constitution, the Country, and the people that elected them.

They really DO believe that the power they hold belongs to them, rather than to the people who elected them, and they wield it recklessly and without regard to the desires of those people. Our recourse is to de-capitalize the senate - to return it to its proper place in the power structure by rejecting these misdirected minions and replacing them with candidates who will keep their origins in mind.

The world has changed, and today we can easily know all of the things they used to do in secret. We can track the what and when of all their actions, and recall almost instantly every transgression or abuse of that power when the next election comes around. The best defense against visibility is integrity, and we need to elect representatives who understand and practice this truth. These people are clueless.

I live in Southaven MS, a very Republican town, as its residents are mainly a product of “white flight” from Memphis. I am ready to man a clipboard to recal this joker Lott!

Oh...I suspect Byrd uses all kinds of colorful terms for our hispanic brethren behind closed doors. I was merely saying that those words, as quoted in the previous reply, were dead on...regardless of his motive for saying them.

Lott had a primary opponent in 2006, but he probably got less than 10 percent.

I remember a few years ago how some liberal Chicagoans got fed up with Dan Rostenkowski and chased him down. They should do that in Pascagoula if Lott ever comes home. He might run so fast his wig would fly off.

Maybe they can take him “alligator fishing”.

The SHEER ARROGANCE of these people continues to dumbfound me.

We MUST have a third political party to “tame” these creatures and get them back in line.

Just like they all voted for the McCain-Feingold campaign finance bill and then feigned horror that it wasn’t declared unconstitutional. They’ve planned the same double talk scheme with illegal immigration and the Hush Rush bill.

LOL .....excellent depiction!

Reminds me of some lines from Parliament of Whores

"When buying and selling are legislated, the first thing to be bought and sold are legislators."

I think that this is a complaint that the old days on Mt. Olympus were more fun for senators, and that the senators especially don't like the new media's ability to inform, inspire and direct public opinion.

Am I the only one who ties Lott’s change of heart to Hillary’s access to his FBI file 15 years ago? And there are other like Specter to whom this applies.

The Republican whip, Trent Lott of Mississippi, who supports the bill, said: “Talk radio is running America. We have to deal with that problem.” At some point, Mr. Lott said, Senate Republican leaders may try to rein in “younger guys who are huffing and puffing against the bill.”

QUISLING: a synonym for traitor, someone who collaborates with the invaders of his country.

U.S. Constitution, Article 4 Section 4:

"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government,

and shall protect each of them against Invasion;"

Invasion: \In*va"sion\, n. [L. invasio: cf. F. invasion. See Invade.] [1913 Webster]

1. The act of invading; the act of encroaching upon the rights or possessions of another; encroachment; trespass.
