Washington, D.C. – The U.S. House of Representatives this morning voted to withhold federal emergency services funding for "sanctuary cities" that protect illegal immigrants.

Anti-immmigration champion Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., sponsored the measure, which he says would apply to cities such as Denver and Boulder. He was elated by its passage, which stunned critics and supporters alike.

Haven’t seen Dane around. Was he/she flushed from the site a few months ago? Must have been, that once could never resist trying to assert Americans without borders was popular with U.S. citizens.

I’d love to hear Dane’s reaction about this one. Almost as badly as I want to see The Beltway Boys get stunned again by having this bill die in the Senate.

A lot of the open borders crowd is gone though. They got exposed as the liberals they were, we all know their names without having to even say them. Terri, Miers, borders. Every single issue they were on the opposing side. Yet they were the REAL conservatives.

According to FR's home page search, Dane is still active on FR and hasn't been banned. In fact, it says Dane posted a reply on some thread at recently as three days ago. Good luck trying to get Dane to respond to this thread though. Dane's laughable premise that everyone who ran a hard-line campaign on immigration in a contested race was defeated got debunked monthes ago, but I like having to "remind" Dane of all the NEW Congresscritters voting with Tancredo. It's fun. :-)

To his credit, Dane at least posts on other topics besides open borders.

Dane's little buddy Bayourod managed to survive on this forum for about 4 years and the ONLY issue Bayourod EVER bothered to post about was open-borders/illegal alien rights. The only time Bayourod would even mention other issues (gun rights, taxes, etc.) was to threaten conservatives that they'd lose all that stuff if they didn't pander to border hoping criminals. It would be like if someone else posted on FR for abortion rights all day and claimed Republicans were dooooooooomed unless they embrace abortion on demand. Obviously, if Bayourod was as much "conservative" as I am a resident of the North Pole.

Bayourod's been banned now, but I kinda miss his insane, delusional rantings that lifelong Republican Tom Tancredo was Buchanan's shadowy puppet and working for a insidious "third party" movement behind the scenes. Considering Buchanan is now cheerleading for Ron Paul INSTEAD of his "puppet" Tancredo, I'd love to see BayouRINO's reaction as well.

Here's the list of Republicans who voted NO on this bill. Please call/fax/email to express your DISPLEASURE.

Cannon Castle Diaz-Balart, L. Diaz-Balart, M. Fortuño Herger Reichert Reynolds Ros-Lehtinen

And fax to thank the rest of the Republicans in the house who voted the right way for this bill. And send a donation to Republican Tom Tancredo.

See most times you look at the actual votes you see almost all Republicans voting on the right side of an issue . However all anybody sees is what Bush does and blames the whole GOP for it.

Used quick programming & caphillbabe's list to email all the top staffers of Senators with one email at the same time.

I told them not to pass this Amnesty bill because it will turn the U.S.A. into a 3rd world socialist hell hole

like Venezuela or Mexico with the same poverty, loss of jobs, oppression, starvation and diseases.

They want to turn the U.S.A into a socialist Venezuela or a 3rd world country:

From the Washington Times:Bill permits 193 million more aliens

I just copied each paragraph block of emails and pasted it to my yahoo email "to:" box, one of those paragraph blocks of emails at a time.

And it worked. If you want to email them all at once and your If your email says too many in the to: field just cut a few names off. But it will probably be short enough.

"If I were (Speaker of the House) Nancy Pelosi, I'd be asking if she could pass a vote on amnesty on the House side," Tancredo said. "If she lost 50 Democrats on this one, and she says she needs 70 Republicans to pass the immigration plan, this is an interesting indicator of things coming down the pike, and that the times, they are a-changing."

"The times, they are a-changing..." Thank God.

I have earlier written my Senators suggesting this, noting as and example that the fed. gov’t. threatened denial of certain federal funds to states if they refused to adopt the federally mandated 55 mph speed limit a couple of decades ago.

The 17th Amendment passed in 1911. It was precisely after that passage that the power, size, budget etc of the federal government exploded and has kept growing since. Now we have a 2.9 trillion dollar annual federal budget, the federal government doing thousands of things they shouldn't be doing and a hundreds of very hight taxes. Many of these laws and government agencies are unconstitutional and Senators do not listen to the will of the people today as we can see with the Amnesty bill.

Before the 17th Amendment passed in 1911 America was basically a free, limited government country, with very low rates of taxation, much lower and fewer taxes than we have today. and people didn't have the Internet then. Now that people are more informed because of the Internet can you imaging how much greater America and our civilization would be if we repealed 17th Amendment and stopped this horrible Amnesty bill.

I agree , we need to really ramp up our pressure on the House as well, where we can stop a lot of this crap. They are closer to the people, and feel more vulnerable on this issue.

Strangle the Senate/WH Amnesty Effort. Tancredo’s amendment to cut off Sanctuary City funding is part of the Homeland Security Authorization for next fiscal year.

Warts and all, he’s true. Like I posted upthread, it would behoove the Conservative Movement to donate to the Congressman’s Presidential campaign to make sure this doesn’t get forgotten and buried in cloakroom negotiations.

I’ll bet we could compose a Macro that would simply use a textfile db of those contacts and send the same message, one at a time, so filters wouldn’t stop it.

Personalize it a bit, and use a mailmerge function.

Great work, FRiend.

He has a small ground game going in Iowa. That looks like his/our best shot. Romney and Giuliani are blowing off the IA straw poll (which, really, means little this early), but it looks, from the outside, that TT is working there. His First and Last Stand, possibly. Iowans, I think, are tired of being ignored by the Big Money. Write off NH, throw everything into IA, get his Howard Dean visibility, then shoot for placing or showing in SC. The dominoes can fall.
