I’m glad he’s still doing these comics! I have all of his books. I’m passing this on to family and friends.

No ~ in fact, if Donald Graham is going to cave-in to Islamofascists every chance he gets it's time for him to discover new avenues of employment.

He has become a hazard to the safety of the American people.

So, it's either he gives up his publishing empire or "W" imprisons him incommunicado for the duration of the struggle.

This is war, and it's better for Donald Graham to lose his rights than that the rest of us die brutal deaths at the hands of fanatics.

Ok, I'll guess that you're not really serious...that you're just practicing your hyperbole for the sake of venting your frustration...anything else would be ridiculous.

I wonder if they would have gotten emotional responses from Christians if they had shown the previous week’s strip around to Christians on the staff?

Good subtle humor, and a nice trap for those who will post without thinking.

Christians at the WaPo?

I haven’t read Bloom County for a number of years, but I do remember Breathed making fun of Jimmy Carter when Carter was president.

WaPo does nothing to earn 1st Amendment protections. What a bunch of spineless wusses.

You got it.

But then don’t ever wait for “The Washington Post” to stand up for America. It won’t and it doesn’t. Simple as that.

The Post’s major preoccupation is in tearing down the US.

According to the Post, all is lost; and it’s all because of evil, middle-class, white men who go to work, raise families, have faith and admire their country - especially in difficult times. Shame on us, huh?

"Qur'an:2:216 "Jihad (holy fighting in Allah's Cause) is ordained for you (Muslims), though you dislike it. But it is possible that you dislike a thing which is good for you, and like a thing which is bad for you. Warfare is ordained for you."

Noble Qur'an:2:190 Footnote: "Jihad is holy fighting in Allah's Cause with full force of numbers and weaponry. It is given the utmost importance in Islam and is one of its pillars. By Jihad Islam is established, Allah's Word is made superior (which means only Allah has the right to be worshiped), and Islam is propagated. By abandoning Jihad Islam is destroyed and Muslims fall into an inferior position; their honor is lost, their lands are stolen, their rule and authority vanish. Jihad is an obligatory duty in Islam on every Muslim. He who tries to escape from this duty, or does not fulfill this duty, dies as a hypocrite."

"struggle indeed". That's what Islamic apologists would like you to believe, that it's somehow a "inner struggle". NOTHING in the koran and hadith suggests that. It's is constant in its teaching that:

Muslim:C40B20N4676 "Jihad Is Compulsory."
And that it's all about:
Qur'an:47:4 "So, when you clash with the unbelieving Infidels in battle (fighting Jihad in Allah's Cause), smite their necks until you overpower them, killing and wounding many of them. At length, when you have thoroughly subdued them, bind them firmly, making (them) captives. Thereafter either generosity or ransom (them based upon what benefits Islam) until the war lays down its burdens. Thus are you commanded by Allah to continue carrying out Jihad against the unbelieving infidels until they submit to Islam."

Bukhari:V4B52N196 "Allah's Apostle said, ‘I have been ordered to fight with the people till they say,"None has the right to be worshipped but Allah."'"

Qur'an:9:111 "Allah has purchased the believers, their lives and their goods. For them (in return) is the Garden (of Paradise). They fight in Allah's Cause[jihad], and they slay and are slain; they kill and are killed."

Bukhari:V4B52N311 "Allah's Apostle said, ‘There is no migration after the Conquest of Mecca, but only Jihad. When you are called by the Muslim ruler for Jihad fighting, you should go forth immediately, responding to the call.'"

Ishaq:208 "When Allah gave permission to his Apostle to fight, the second Aqaba contained conditions involving war which were not in the first act of submission. Now we bound themselves to war against all mankind for Allah and His Apostle. He promised us a reward in Paradise for faithful service. We pledged ourselves to war in complete obedience to Muhammad no matter how evil the circumstances."

Qur'an:8:7 "Allah wished to confirm the truth by His words: ‘Wipe the infidels out to the last.'"

Ishaq:204 "‘Men, do you know what you are pledging yourselves to in swearing allegiance to this man?' ‘Yes. In swearing allegiance to him we are pledging to wage war against all mankind.'"

That's your "struggle". Struggle to kill all who resist Islam.

Lola Granola is probably very much
an example of where the true danger
of Islam exists in this country.
In a mistaken belief the rights of
an “oppressed” minority are too
sharply curtailed, this outspoken
and overly activist body of opinion
will jump to the defense of Islam,
embracing its superficial “virtues”,
while at the same time never giving
any examination to the deeper and
much darker intentions that are
masked by this same superficiality.

Defending and excusing this whole
concept of “Islamic jihad” is
declaring a defeat for all other
value systems. There is no
compromise between Islamic jihad
and any other belief system.
Not even “moderate Muslims”.

Cancer cells do not share power
with normal body cells.

How is THAT offensive to Islam? Jeez, it almost seems complimentary. Muslim women don't blather on about American Idol... Radical Islam is a hot new fad... decadent western crud... wont resist a man's rightful place...

Is it her name, fer cryin' out loud? Or simply that it might be a big change for most American men to deal with?

Seriously, where is the insult, worth pulling the entire friggin' thing??

...that poked fun at the Rev. Jerry Falwell without incident one week ago was deemed too controversial to run over the weekend because this time it took a humorous swipe at Muslim fundamentalists.

Yep, ya gotta love the MSM - all that courage of conviction - - backbone - - fairness... yeah, right. The new "yellow" in journalism stands for cowardliness....

No, jihad means struggle, it has always meant that in Arabic, and means it whenever any Arabic speaker uses it. Secular Arabic speakers may have be engaged in a jihad to keep their waistlines trim. An Arabic speaker who is hanging on to a cliff edge could describe the effort to get himself back onto the top of the cliff as jihad.

‘Jihad’ only takes on a technical Muslim theological meaning in context, even as, for instance, the English word ‘saved’ only takes on a Christian theological meaning in context, but otherwise might be used in phrases like the schoolboy’s ‘saved by the bell’ or ‘saved from drowning’ or ‘saved a lot of money by buying wholesale’.

Breathed makes fun of everybody, and very well! He did a strip in the Daily Texan when I was at the University of Texas, called “The Academia Waltz”, that was an absolute scream.

How is THAT offensive to Islam?

It's not...they just want you to subject all material about Islam to Islamists for their approval before it's printed. That way, you will surrender your opinion of Islam to match their belief.
