Hes flat wrong that no legislature has enacted gay marriage legislation, since California has twice. But the measure was vetoed the first time and likely will again by Governor Schwarzenegger.Enacted means passed by the legislature and made into law. What part of the veto process killing a bill (not yet a law) does the author not understand?

The other approach has been tried in Congress, Thompson reminded CBN viewers. Lets fashion something that will cure the problem, that will stop the problem in its tracks while still saying if some state wants to come along through their legislature and do something different, let them answer to their own people. And I got a feeling they wont be in the legislature that much longer. "Stack 'em, pack 'em, rack'em" ('Folksy' Fred as Trudeau in Die Hard 2...)

I sent another donation to Fred three days ago. Just heard Fred on Sean’s show, and he was great! GO FRED!

Looks like Fred and Ron Paul are running the same campaign. No traction in either camp.

The point is that gay marriage is inevitable in other states, whether by popular means or by legal challenge, including prominent suits pending in Iowa, Maryland and California. This writer is behind the times on claiming a pending suit in Maryland, which months ago threw the decision out of the court and back to the legislature, as Fred would have recommended. Wonder how many other issues this writer's "behind" on?

Just heard “Folksy Fred” on Sean’s show and he sure has traction that the MSM is afraid of! First and second in many places if you believe the polls. Guess you missed hearing him. I do hope that when he wins the nomination that you will consider voting for him over Hillary.

Heard him interviewed once. He didn’t pick up on the questions unless they were the specific issues has has scripted out. Seemed out of touch, old. The quickest one, and with the strongest street-smarts is, sad to say, Giuliani. Just an impression.

And yet Fred is second or first in almost all state polls and 2nd in Rasmussen's' poll.
Wow not much traction there <\SARCASM!>
Nice try at the disinformation though!

"Thompson's alternative is quite consistent with federalism."
I disagree. To allow states to not recognize marriages performed in other states is contrary to the "full faith and credit" clause, by which states must recognize the legitimate legislative rulings of other states.

Thompson ignores the evidence on the politics of gay marriage. Pro-marriage legislators in Massachusetts have done much better at the polls than opponents. Hes flat wrong that no legislature has enacted gay marriage legislation, since California has twice. But the measure was vetoed the first time and likely will again by Governor Schwarzenegger. So now "pro-marriage" means "supports gay marriage"?
Remember you saw it here first (or at least I did).

"In truth, a President Thompson would be an unmitigated disaster on gay issues."A truly admirable characteristic in a candidate if you are positive the candidate is candid. Celebrities sometimes get so vain and full of themselves that they lose that candid candidate characteristic. The smile a lot, but hate the truly candid camera!!!
