Seven years ago George bush and the republicans gave a tax cut to the wealthy. We had a recesion and as far as Im concerned we never recovered. I was working as a telemarketeer and my husband was at an assembly plant. In 2001 my husband was laid off after his job was outsourced. Then I lost my job too. My husband now works at Target and I held a job at Burger King. A week ago my job was terminated after buisness wasn't so well. Now were in another recession and Bush wants yet another tax cut? If cutting taxes didn't work before what does he thinks going to happen? I say raise them back up and give tax breaks to the poor and only the poor! We need it more after our jobs went away!
Is this the ‘Friday Silliness’ thread?
Hey, it beats “I’m a lifelong Republican who voted for Bush twice, but...”.
The seminar hacks are broadening their horizons a little bit. I thought the Burger King/Target twist had a semi-authentic, white-trash sort of vibe to it. It’s kind of refreshing, as far as mindless, classist socialist drivel goes.
Actually he gave it to everyone paying taxes. Since the top 10% of earners pay over 75% of the taxes, are you surprised the would get a tax break too?
We had a recesion and as far as Im concerned we never recovered.
We had a recession that started under clinton. It was ended thanks to the actions of Bush and the Republicans.
I was working as a telemarketeer and my husband was at an assembly plant. In 2001 my husband was laid off after his job was outsourced. Then I lost my job too.
That sucks, but since Gore tried to steal the election Bush never even got all his people into office until well into 2001 when these thing were already in line to happen to you two thanks to the policies set up by clinton.
My husband now works at Target and I held a job at Burger King.
So after you lost you jobs thanks to the clinton recession, you found new ones in the bush era. Awesome.
A week ago my job was terminated after buisness wasn't so well.
I have never seen a Burger King that was not hiring. Are you sure there was not another reason?
Now were in another recession
No we are not.
and Bush wants yet another tax cut?
Actually he wants to keep the ones we have in place.
If cutting taxes didn't work before what does he thinks going to happen?
They did work before. You admitted you and your husband lost your jobs thanks to the clinton economy and got new ones under Bush.
I say raise them back up and give tax breaks to the poor and only the poor!
The poor don't pay taxes so how can they get a tax break? You said you lost your job because business was bad i.e. your company did not have enough money to pay you. So how will taking away even more money now make them have more to rehire you?
We need it more after our jobs went away!
You need what more? Tax breaks on taxes you don't pay, or your job back from a company that did not have enough money to pay you with that you now want the government to take more from?
One of you should be staying home with the kids anyway.
IBTZ
It is now.
My advice to you, is to start drinking heavily.
I haven’t seen the Viking kitties for a while, either, LOL.
MD 50/50.
Works wonders.
That’s what my reply was to be...
Wow..this is still up IBTZ!! Yahoo!!
Move out of Michigan, babe.
The tax cuts are about to run out [in 2010] and as anyone, other than vacant lefties know, UNCERTAINTY is not the economy’s friend.
The word has no actual meaning in sheeps' media-made fantasyland. If you can't afford an Escalade and somebody else can, the country's in recession.
They’re fainting goats :)
Still no zot? What’s this place coming to?
One Million Dollars in.. ... FREE MONEY!!In fact, all the po folk should get .. FREE MONEY. We'll just take it from those dang ... 'Rich People'.
Ah, but thanks to the generosity of the mods, I’m finally IBTZ! Whoo-hoo! :D
