Huckabee came in second to Mitt Romney in the first round of voting, finishing with 33% to Romney's 41%, the AP reported earlier. John McCain, finishing third with 15%, survived to the second round, while Ron Paul finished fourth, at 10%, and was eliminated.
Amid rumors of a deal between backers of Huckabee and McCain, Huckabee secured 52% of the delegates in the second round, to Romney's 47%. McCain's goal in throwing support to Huckabee is designed to deprive Romney of a win early in the day.

Huckabee hasn't won since Iowa.
Combined, they *barely* beat Romney by 5%.
It's time to stop the two-headed RINO!
Huck and McCain the new leaders of the liberal GOP.
You’re right. I hope the folks who haven’t voted yet consider thsi when they vote!
It is out in the open now, McCain and Huckabee are definitely tag teaming Romney to deny him success wherever the two of them together can do so.
That is the reality of this tough political contest and Romney will have to fight accordingly.
One potential positive for him is that most conservatives do not like the stink of backroom politics and manipulation of the vote. It may backfie on the McCain/Huckabee express...I hope it does starting today.
What a McCreep, can’t even fight fare!
How is that cheating?
Oh no! The two headed RINO is colluding to defeat the other RINO.
It's not only Romney they're cheating...it's conservatives. Our votes are expendable to them.
The fact is the
Just say NO to Massachusetts liberals!
Collusion!!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA !!!
Yeah, god forbid anyone choose of their own freewill to vote for who they want.
I don’t think there is anything more that really shows how mental the Ronmeybots are than this kinda talk.
It’s nutter than the Paul Truthers!!
It's not cheating but it's dirty backroom politics. Exactly what you'd expect from the Rino establishment.
That’s a pretty big accusation in your amended title. I doubt your source or FR would be okay with it.
One of many defeats today for Romney.
I don’t agree with ya much Johnny... but DAMN you nailed this one!
What part of this do you call “cheating”? Isn’t this how caucuses generally work? It looks like most WV caucus goers didn’t want Romney. Should he have been given the win anyway?
Why don’t you ask for a recount? Maybe Romney can win in the courts what he cannot win from the voters.
The nerve....
Since I consider Mitt to be part of the RINO establishment, it’s all just a RINO purse fight to me.
You have to win to win and Huckawin won!
And if McCain or Huckabee wins the nomination, I hope you don’t feel a sense of entitlement for our votes in the general with all the insulting you have done.
