After hearing both of them, it was quite embarrassing for Barry (ImBarr[y]assing?)

He was stumbling for words, and corrected himself more than once while his brain was trying to get around the situation and cause his mouth to say the right things.

I haven't read the transcript, but without the sound bite I imagine it doesn't seem quite as bad.

He blew it big time.

McCain gave a simple straight answer and showed how much better he is in dealing with a situation like this.

Senator McCain knows why he was at war with Russia. Obama is a child.

Disagree that our interests are nearly zero. Not saying we need to send troops there, albeit there are other supportive measures we can offer.

And I don’t believe anyone ‘gets along with Russia”; one just keeps their guard up and holds the line, at times ferociously.

The Russians are more honest and upfront about it. They make no pretense about virtue. Look what they did to the British Petroleum manager there. Chased him out, and will probably just take evrything. If he squawks too much, he had better check his tea with a gieger counter.

My suspicion is that this whole Georgian war is just to mess up the pipeline so they can continue to bully and blackmail Europe with the Energy Weapon. It's all about money.

Agree with you. also if the russians can just take Georgia, they get the whole control over the oil..just another takeover of an even larger ‘corporate entity” (Georgia) than British Peroleum.

Interesting times we live in.
For some reason, I feel the MSM is complicit in helping out enemies like the Islamic terrorist, and the Russians.

Their attention span will only last on this news until the next episode of American Idol comes on.

I hate to say it and I could be wrong, but, I have this gut feeling that this is the spark that will start WWIII.
If other factions get involved in the Caucasus and spreads to Turkey Europe, this will be a big mess.

Well, your prohecy has some merit. Nobody likes that we are winning in Iraq. Russia is stronger than ever, Iran is ready and Nobody likes Israel.

So maybe it is time to carve the planet up again. And this time the muzzies will have a say so.

One interesting note: This will help McCain’s chances. Obama’s Messiah complex won’t negotiate the ugly realities away...and I would rather have McCain answering the phone at 3 am.

Hard to shout when the gang of ten, including Reps like thune ( who I thought was a pretty tough guy) pull the rug out from under us and keep us embroiled in this boiling oil kettle.

And to further complicate this matter, the Georgians are pulling 1000 troops out of Iraq and have asked the US Air Force to fly them home so they can help fight off the Russians.

Hopefully the transports will also have a few thousand Javelins and Stinger missiles, as a parting present to Georgia for all their help

Makes one wonder why the Democrats are so insistent upon the US using its oil reserves in light of these current threats.
