Times Online ^ | 08/12/08 | Tom Baldwin

Hillary Clinton's supporters gave a fresh glimpse yesterday of their lingering resentment over her defeat by claiming that she would have won the Democratic presidential nomination if John Edwards had confessed his affair earlier.

Howard Wolfson, her former communications director, suggested that the lie Mr Edwards told last year over his adulterous relationship with Rielle Hunter had lasting effects because it enabled him to stay in the race at a crucial time. ...

It’s always someone else’s fault, never their own.

______________

Yea that’s true, but compared to Mr. Obama , the Clintons are positively humble.

More fuel for the fire that Hillary may try to light at the convention. Folks with buyer’s remorse (viz. Obama) can now say that Hillary gor robbed, and giving her the nomination is only fair.

I think she analyzed this correctly. In the beginning it was Mrs Clinton and Edwards all over the news, and if MSM had been honest they would have covered the Edwards affair as though he were a Republican, and he’d have dropped out much sooner.

Remember the “open mike” comment, we must get rid of these lightweights for the next debate? MSM could have pounced and he’d have been gone.

I don’t think she can be nominated- there was a deadline a week or so ago when Dem candidates had to sign up if they wanted their names put in for nomination, and she did not.

Has anyone reminded the shrew that, were it not for PEROT, her “husband” would not have gotten HIS gig in the White House?

A lot of Edwards' support was from the anti-war crowd. Hillary is delusional if she thinks the majority of them would have picked her over Obama if they had to pick one of those two.

Mrs. Clinton, do you believe that the wife of a presidential candidate has a responsibility to let the voters know if she is aware that her spouse is vulnerable in any way as a result of past or ongoing marital infidelities? What would you have done in this case if you had been Mrs. Edwards?

Anyone else find the absurdity of the Clinton’s and Howard Wolfson publicly denouncing the Main Stream Media for covering up the Edwards/Mistress/Baby story a tad humorous? Their claim is that if The MSM had exposed Edwards, Hillary would have won the candidacy.

How rich is that? The Clinton’s slamming the MSM for covering up a dem scandal? Hell must have definitely frozen over!

Perhaps they might discuss this, inside the family, before millions of people, at the Democrat Convention in Denver in a week and a half. Please.

I remember early on in the primary season, the human bowling ball, James Carville, was on TV. The Obama campaign had complained about something, I forget what. But Carville said that there’s too much whining in the campaign, that Obama’s got to be tough enough to run for president, and it’s a tough process, and you shouldn’t be whining about events that happen.

So now Hillaryland has decided at this late date to say that Hillary would have won the nomination if Edwards’ affair had been disclosed earlier. Isn’t that whining and second guessing? Haven’t seen Carville recently.

Has anyone thought about party unity with this type of sniping out there in the MSM? Hillary’s people are out there with the Clintons full support, I would think.

Finally, the Clintons would have liked Edwards’ affair disclosed sooner to have helped Hillary. This from the Clintons, who have repeatedly complained about the politics of personal destruction and investigations into people’s private lives. I guess you just have to understand that hypocrisy is a given.

And the way the Clintons look at a situation is based on what’s best for the Clintons, not based on solid beliefs about private lives or investigations.

Hillary is 100% correct: She would have been the nominee if Edwards had dropped out earlier.

Edwards was to be Hussein’s Attorney General as part of the deal to derail Hillary.

If the MSM went after Democratic marital infidelities as aggressively as she wants, she would likely be the ex-wife of a former Arkansas governor and failed 1992 presidential candidate. She would not have been in position to be Senator or to run for president.
