Like any party could go down to the beach and say “Whoa There”????

What on earth can anyone do - best stay away until it does its damage then go down there .... you’ll only get in the way of the MSM who sends their idiots there to tell us how hard the wind is blowing and point at the damage that the Republicans caused by naming Palin as McCain’s VP choice ....

Where is the “Lock the media in a closet for the duration” choice?

He could just raise his hands and still the storm.

Reality check: This hurricane is not a Republican responsibility — it is a federal, state and local government responsiblity. And all three performed miserably during Katrina as we know.

Ignore the liberal tripe that always arises from these disasters-of-nature. They do nothing, as usual, to solve any problem and usually just create more -— like the fine so-called goverment of LA, rife with corruption and malfeasance. Finally LA replace the corrupt DemoRAT governor with a Repub that seems to care about cleaning up such a typical liberal mess yet Ray Nagin, the goon of New Orleans, is still in office -— which remains a total puzzle of amazement.

Let us hope that government agencies at all levels, do a better job this time. I think it will happen. I would like to see a delay of the Repub convention until this event is over with.

#1 thing they shouldn’t do is be caught on tape laughing about it or send Michael Moore out to praise the destruction. Oh wait that was the dems.

Postpone the convention. It will look good, especially if the pubbies go down to help out with relief efforts, and would probably get them more favorable publicity than if they went on with the convention as scheduled. The convention’s purpose is to be an infomercial, an infomercial nobody will watch while Gustav’s doing his thing. Hence, we get more and better publicity by doing the right thing, postponing and going to help with relief, than we could be doing business as usual. Then the postponed convention could be a real hit with the videos of all the great relief work the pubbies did.

Telecom with Bobby Jindal each night in prime time to report on what is being done to deal with problems, in contrast to the inaction and incomepetence of Blanco.

Telelink to the hurricane area, featuring talks from the Republican leaders involved dressed in the obligatory windbreaker and baseball cap, including President Bush. Show that with Republican governors Rick Perry in Texas, Bobby Jindal in Lousiana and Haley Barbour in Mississippi, it’s not nearly the total f-up that Katrina was with a Democrat governor and mayor.

Postpone the convention and rally around the affected areas.

It's a good chance to let the people see Sarah Palin, working in real life, rather than a convention.

I agree with the telethon. I would also suggest urging the delegates to cut out most if not all of their partying and have a simple, somewhat quiet, dignified convention. Its not like McCain has anyone who could possibly threaten his nomination (unlike the Demonrat). He and Palin ARE the Repub ticket.

I have to hand it to the libs. They've successfully turned the weather into a welfare state political weapon. Sadly, Bush gave them a huge opening with his "let them eat cake" elitist fly-over of the disaster area. As a former PR man I clapped my hands to my head when I saw that and said to self: "OMIGOD, this is a PR calamity!"

I was right. The libs grabbed it and have been running with it ever since. Worse was the pathetic FEMA response from our side and our failure to demonstrate the total irresponsibility of Nagin and the ditzy former governor of LA. The media libs, including Shep Smith of Fox, left the film archives full of "minorities and women hit hardest" footage. It's already being revived on CNN and elsewhere, to dampen Republican Convention publicity. I'm hoping McCain's people, led by Steve Schmidt, can turn this sow's ear into a silk purse. He's been doing a great job so far.
