Flush with success in passing his economic bill in the House of Representatives, Barack Obama postures a parallel to FDR during the Depression. More striking is Obamas parallel to Frances Louis XIV (1638-1715). (snip) ....... A mercantilist who believed in government, not entrepreneurship, Louis gave special treatment to select industries to decrease dependence on foreign goods. Lobbying and palace intrigue became the primary means to special favors.

“Apres moi, le deluge.”
The dems will replace Marie Antoinette’s famous phrase
will a modern one- Mrs. Blago-F-—’em!
a perfect represenation of the democrat party; haughty, arrogant, presumptuous, disgusting, overbearing and just plain stupid, ignorant and elitist. (adolescent, mendacious, acquisitve brats who camouflage their effrontery with with business suits and the accessories of adults.)

Hmmmm. Nice gams!
Actually, he doesn’t look all that like BO (apart from the legs).
That was Louis XV.
I know. But since Barack Hussein Obama is being compared to Louis XIV, I figured I could compare him to Louis XV.
Louis XIV did say, “I am the state”. Now this mentality and MSM adulation DOES apply to BHO.
re: Great history lesson from an upstate NY editor that gets it!
I agree. Just curious. Does this NY editor typically “get it”?
Or the worst of both worlds, a Chamberlain pushover in foreign affairs and an FDR Depression enabler and anti-constitutionalist in domestic affairs.
I don't read the Sentinel that often as I am not in their circulating area. I can say that the Sentinel does put a more Conservative spin on local stories when I have read it.
So I would give him a pass for now.
This is a great analysis.
It seems as if socialism is simply a rebrand of mercantilism.
bttt
