Is he putting this on, it really doesn't look like it, very bizarre?

He may be bizarro, but he’s a darn good actor.
He’s got more talent in his pinky than Letterman has in his whole body.
And, so far at least, I don’t think he’s ever gotten into the political clap-trap that many in Hollywood have.

Wow. I watched about half of it, but that was one strange first half let me tell you.

If it was for real, I wish Letterman hadn’t capitalized on it for laughs. This guy needs help.

I’m fairly certain this was put on because you can tell towards the end he is trying to stifle a grin.

I agree. He looks like he is having a Howard Hughes moment. I hope not.

It wasn’t for real, you could see Letterman was trying to get him to laugh and he almost did a couple of times.

No, I seriously doubt he was putting it on, he was definitely slurring and such, sure people can fake that, but I think he was on some kind of serious downers.

What did he do? Did he flash his breasts at Letterman?

It’s an act...his brother-in-law Casey Affleck is producing a “documentary” about this supposed transformation Phoenix is making from actor to rapper.

I was shopping one day for videos. Two women down from me, one picks up a video and says, (I swear to God)

"This one with Joe Quinn Phoenix is so good"

He will forever be Joe Quinn to me.....;^)

Look, for his mental health, I hope you’re right. I’m not at all certain you are, but who knows.

You missed near the end when Letterman says “I’ll come to your house one night to chew gum” and Phoenix says, “I don’t have to chew gum” - takes it out of his mouth and sticks it underneath Letterman’s desk...

I think it was an act. I had no idea he had a new movie coming out ... but I do now. Great PR stunt. He is afterall a great actor. Loved him in Gladiator.
