great Luc Bresson movie...... He did the “Fifth Element” which was wacky in all the right places. Over the top Chris Tucker

I love this utterly over the top Sci Fi flick, got it on BluRay.

“Tell No One’ was a terrific thriller. French with English subtitles, kept us on the edge of our seats. Maybe I will give ‘Taken’ a second look. I am not thrilled with seeing ‘kidnapped kids’ movies.

Over the top Chris Tucker

Was he ever?! I love that movie, and catch it every time I see it come on TV, especially if it's in High Def.

I hadn’t been paying attention. Some are under $200 at Newegg.

Hmmm . . .

Uh-oh - blank media is still >$10/each for single layer. I wonder if they’ll be half that by the end of this year?

I was a bit leery of taking my wife to this (on Valentine’s Day no less!) - but she wanted to. She loved it. She loves Neeson - and the action was good, suspense, love story, etc. She was a bit worried with the previews of other shows (lots of R rated ones) and says “This better not be R - I’m sure it said PG-13 in the paper”.

then she asked her parents to buy her a cell phone so she could always be safe - understandable query if you saw the film.

however I don’t know why the interrogation scene that’s on tv commercials disappeared from the final cut... probably too real

The initial advertising had Neeson giving the idiotic advice "They're going to take you. You'll have thirty seconds to describe everything you can about them." After a week of that the second sentence disappeared from the commercials.

Seriously now - Besson is a good film maker with an eye toward visual appeal but more often than not common sense flies right over his head. If he's going to make films that touch on realistic problems he should hire advisers from respective fields concerning those problems.

Great flick. Milla was hot, Chris over the top. Got it on a SuperBit disk which looks fantastic on an HD screen Too bad Sony owns SuperBit, you wouldn’t need a high priced BluRay player. The operatic number sounded great in surround sound.

“Gran Torino is great.”

My wife and I are movie buffs....simply enjoy for entertainment sake. Something in common at 41 years of marriage. A sober date night.

What is striking about Gran Torino is Eastwood.

He is 78. He co-wrote, produced, starred, directed and sang part of the song at the end.

He certainly doesn’t need money. He is a professional film person, bar none.

Another aspect of Eastwood directed films: No stereotype or formula—all quite different.

We try to see every one.

Carrol Oconnor was actually more liberal than Rob Reiner.
