Clinton urges China to keep buying US Treasuries(Obama administration begging China!!)

Hillary Clinton urged China on Sunday to continue buying US Treasuries, saying it would help get the American economy moving again and stimulate imports of Chinese goods. "By continuing to support American Treasury instruments the Chinese are recognising our interconnection. We are truly going to rise or fall together," Clinton said at the US embassy shortly before leaving Beijing. Clinton, wrapping up her first overseas trip as secretary of state, said continued Chinese purchases of treasuries were essential to financing the massive 787 billion dollar US stimulus plan. "Because our economies are so intertwined the Chinese know that in order to start exporting again to its biggest market, the United States had to take some very drastic measures with this stimulus package," Clinton said in response to a question from a Chinese talkshow host. "We have to incur more debt. It would not be in China's interest if we were unable to get our economy moving again," she added. "I certainly do think the Chinese government and the central bank here in China (are) making a very smart decision by continuing to invest in Treasury bonds," she said. Clinton had said on Saturday after meetings with top Chinese leaders that China was still confident in US Treasury bonds and expressed Washington's appreciation for the investments.

China is the top holder of US Treasury bills, with 696.2 billion dollars of such securities in December followed by Japan with 578.3 billion dollars, according to the latest official data from Washington.

Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi indicated Saturday China would not deviate drastically from its US Treasury policies, but gave no specifics.

Gotta give them some credit. China has learned something by watching our mistakes. They've heard of Welfare, foreign aid, and loansharking to compulsive gamblers. Rewarding bad behavior is a good way to lower someone's standard of living. We're broke. Now we need 'Change'...

Begging our enemies to invest in our economy... and gain even MORE control of our economic future.

Liberals will lose this figt. It may take the fall of the United States and eventual war, but they will lose.

Deviating 10% will trigger serious interest rate increases at this point. Nothing drastic...

Dear China: You, believe it or not, are the last hope for our nation. If you purchase our treasury notes, we will be beholden to you for possibly a trillion dollars. Please save our nation and refuse to buy the notes.

The Clintons are on this planet for one reason:
To humiliate the United States of America.

Another article states that a Chinese spokesman said, "China will continue to talk to the US about the matter."

In other words, "China is in the driver's seat now. The US can talk to us right now, but that will continue only with our permission and on our terms."

I’m an old man and I never thought I’d see the day that more capitalism would be found in China than in the USA.

Bingo. As long as they are “talking”, they’re not changing anything. One of China’s most well-known and long-used diplomatic techniques.

"Hillery on her knees in China wearing extra lip gloss."

The ChiComs were never going to do differently. They depend on the U.S. economy more than we rely on them. And they need to something with their bucks. They already tried the EUro trick and lost their shirts on the strong euro.

Mrs. Bill Clinton's statement was made for media. The Red Chinese were always buying Treasuries, so Mrs. Toon makes a press soundbite, "I asked my friends to continue investing in our debt. They said OK. Aren't I an effective diplomat?"

I'm thinking the Chinese will equitize the dollar holdings by buying US real estate (showing up in CA recently) or, crazy thought... buying American equities and driving up the stock market to signal the “end” of the recession. Who knows. Should be interesting. But, holing US bonds when the US is inflating? “We HATE you guys...”

ChiComs have a hard time getting greenbacks, or even renminbi out of the country. Some of the big shot Communist Party members, other than campaign contributions and espionage, might be looking for a good place for exile. Hong Kong and Macau guys don't count.
