I give up - what’s the building? And where is it located?

I looked it up. It’s in London, and apparently called the “University Senate House” today. It was “The Ministry of Information” during WW2.

Following these attacks on free speech was the much debated hate crimes legislation, considered by many to be a back-door path to silencing critics of the administration.

How many people on here realize that the “Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Prevention Act” has already passed the Senate and is likely to pass the House this week.

It was passed as an amendment to the Defense Appropriation bill back in July. The vote on cloture for the amendment was 63/28, mostly along party lines, with these few exeptions:

After the cloture vote, there was no recorded vote on the amendment itself. It passed by unanimous consent.

I think the final bill is in Conference right now, and should be voted on within the next few days.

I wonder if people will even notice this.

The department's functions were threefold: news and press censorship; home publicity; and overseas publicity in Allied and neutral countries. Planning for such an organisation, largely conducted in secret, had started in October 1935 under the auspices of the Committee for Imperial Defence.

Thanks for the information...

“I have to wonder if the original plan was to use ACORN and SEIU goons to enforce oppressive administrative rulings—the “civilian security force” that Zippy and Rahmbo talked about.”

Thats a real good thought. I am predicting that it a matter of time before the thuggery, from whatever source, if not from the ready made ones you mentioned [or like the New Black Panthers]meets with an armed citizenry.
I think folks have “had a damn ‘nuff” of this buffoonery.

The other thing that strikes me is how similar our circumstance is to that of the Romans at the fall of the republic where the streets were filled with political gangs. Maybe its closer to the brownshirts....

we have an anti constitutional pres__ent of the United States. therefore he has defiled his sworn oath to protect that document...and YES we are watching him...and things are in flux right now. None of us know how this all will shake out in the end.....

...but this looks like it might not end with genteel solutions of America's problems...

I pray America can find its way to correct this aberration that is zer0bama....but fear it will probably not be a pretty solution...

I'm impressed - and I have a question. How can you look up a picture of a building? It seems impossible... ( except that you did it)

The building is “senate house” which housed the British “Ministry of Information” during WW2 , it was Orwells inspiration for the “Ministry of Truth” building.

I found it by searching for “ministry of information” and then going to the “images” tab.
