FBI: Radical Islamist Group Ruled by Inmate in "Supermax" Jail
The Weekly Standard ^ | October 29, 2009 | John McCormack

Posted on 10/30/2009 8:22:07 AM PDT by opentalk

From the FBI press release on last night’s Dearborn, MI raid-turned-shootout that left radical Imam Luqman Ameen Abdullah, aka Christopher Thomas dead:

Abdullah was the leader of part of a group that calls themselves Ummah (“the brotherhood”), a group of mostly African-American converts to Islam, which seeks to establish a separate Sharia-law governed state within the United States. The Ummah is ruled by Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin, formerly known as H. Rapp Brown, who is serving a state sentence in USP Florence, CO, ADMAX, for the murder of two police officers in Georgia.

Interesting to note the active tense used in the release. The use of the phrase “is ruled” should raise an eyebrow or two for those following the debate over where to relocate the terrorists currently housed at Gitmo. Two of the most mentioned locations being considered by the Obama administration are the federal prison in Standish, Michigan and the federal Administrative Maximum (aka “Supermax”) prison in Florence, Colorado. One of the left’s core arguments in the debate rests on the belief that the security provided by such a facility would render Gitmo’s terrorists totally unable to organize and convert fellow prisoners eager to learn from the jihad-masters.

In this case, not only did a domestic Islamic terrorist organization arise from within the walls of our prison system, but the “Supermax” facility currently serves as the headquarters for this radical group.

It appears FBI Director Robert Mueller’s “relevant concerns” about bringing Gitmo’s terrorists to the United States are not so far-fetched after all.

So far as we know, no terror cells are currently being run from inside Guantanamo.

“The Ummah is ruled by Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin, formerly known as H. Rapp Brown, who is serving a state sentence in USP Florence, CO, ADMAX, for the murder of two police officers in Georgia.”

Why have jails/prisons if these inmates can “rule” an uprising or radical group from inside??

Solitary for these dudes, or is that cruel and unusual?

That really is a blast from the past.

I’m surprised that Eric Holder is letting the FBI arrest these people. There must be a few people left in the agency who are more concerned about doing their duty than pleasing their Master, since there has been quite a lot of this sort of activity in the past couple of months.

Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin (جميل عبد الله الامين) (Born October 4, 1943, as Hubert Gerold Brown), also known as H. Rap Brown, came to prominence in the 1960s as chairman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee and later the Justice Minister of the Black Panther Party. He is perhaps most famous for his proclamation during that period that "violence is as American as cherry pie", as well as once stating that "If America don't come around, we're gonna burn it down". He is currently serving a life sentence for homicide.

He spent five years (1971–1976) in the Attica Prison after a robbery conviction. While in prison, Brown converted to Islam and changed his name to Jamil Abdullah al-Amin. After his release, he opened a grocery store in Atlanta, Georgia and became a Muslim spiritual leader and community activist preaching against drugs and gambling in Atlanta's West End neighborhood.

He also became the leader of Ummah, "a group of mostly African-American converts to Islam, which seeks to establish a separate Sharia-law governed state within the United States."

I don’t mind him being on US soil. I mind him being above it.

I hate to say this but right after 9/11, the fact that so many inmates get converted to Islam brought some concern. This could be where the next “civil war” may come from...horrible to contemplate...got to buy more ammo...just saying...

Brown was young and angry. He wrote in Die Nigger Die (H. Rapp Brown’s book) that President Lyndon Johnson was an “ugly m-—— f-——.”

Hey, remember the nurse killer, Richard Speck, was getting a sex-change operation while in prison, paid by the tax payer, when he died. How about giving the tax payers a break by cutting that s**t out?

You might like seeing this: http://tinyurl.com/ykqdmsm

From the Free Jamil al Amin/H. Rap Brown facebook page. date 2/21/09

As many of you may have heard, Jamil Al-Amin has been moved to what is known in prison as "the hole". He was strip searched and placed in a cell with no bed, no control over the lights and no shower. They have taken his Qur'an and all of his other personal property. No information has been given as to why this transfer was made, but nothing could justify this inhumane treatment.
