The big beef (Ontario man investigated for buying and slaugtering a pig. Muslims on his side)
The Ottawa Citizen ^ | December 8, 2009 | David Gonczol

Mark Tijssen, a major in the Canadian military, stands in front of a meat smoker containing the remains of a pig that could cost him thousands of dollars in fines. Tijssen's family home was raided by members of the Intelligence and Investigations Section of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ottawa Police last month while he was preparing a pizza dinner for children on a Friday night.

Mark Tijssen's family has been slaughtering their own animals and handing that skill from father to son for at least three generations. But changes to Ontario's Food Safety Act has landed him and others squarely in the middle of a criminal investigation complete with a stake out of his home.

CONTROL CONTROL, they want control over everything don’t they.

I remember when my Dad Slaughtered a lame pig we had that he couldn’t sell, it made delicious pork chops!

Yes, that is our challenge in a nutshell.

We have to find ways to stop them.

Farmers around here kill their own meat regularly, My on father was a great butcher and we always butchered our own meat. I get half a ateer now each year, but I pay a processor because he cut’s ,wraps . and quick freezes it for me.

The Amish guy up the street butchers a lot of hunters deer meat and he has goat meat he raises and butchers. He isnt licensed by anyone . Sounds like Canada is a little nutso about this.

My father told me a couple of weeks ago that the church could no longer sell farm-cured hams as a fund-raiser... the local board of health had shut them down. They haven't had home-brewed root beer at the summer church festivals since I was a kid, and you can't buy unpasteurized apple cider anywhere any more... not even at the mill.

Contrary to popular belief, there is such a thing as too much safety.

These laws are designed to reduce self-sufficiency with the eventual long term goal of making all the population wards of the state.

Well, the Canadian government provides them with their healthcare if they get sick from bad pork, so it is a logical conclusion that the government is concerned about where they get their food from.

Intelligence and Investigations Section of the Ministry of Natural Resources

That is scary..! 50 years ago the very thought of such a gov't entity would have been taken in jest --to me it still seems that way, on this day.

This is chilling.

The goal is to minimize food sources. If you need people to panic and vote for you, make them scared and hungry. When you control the food supply, you control the people.

Sometimes the best of intentions lead straight down to the hell that is the path to Tyranny.

The elites and the commies all want precious control over your lives to make them feel important and good about themselves.

There is much more detail at the link, but apparently a farmer may slaughter an animal for the consumption of his own immediate family, but can not even serve that meat to a dinner guest.

Mark Tijssen, with a friend, had purchased a pig he didn't raise himself, and slaughtered it in his garage. After properly butchering it, he gave 1/2 of the meat to the friend, As she was puling out of his driveway, the Ministry of Natural Resources and police pounced.

There is way more at the link.

Get off our backs, government!
