well if bush didn't take the conservative and drag it thru the liberal mud spending trillions, increasing the power and scope of the federal government all under the name of conservative there would be no need to qualify it. The GOP base and allowed and still allow bush to get away with be called a conservative. Bush was a liberal just happened to have an R after his name.

Now he wasn't a Marxist like Obama but he was still a liberal.

“If McCain had an ounce of self respect, he would have chastised Obama for being a crude pig.”

Yes, and he’s having no problem throwing his temper fits today with his own state’s Republican party, demanding they turn $$ and control ALL over to him.

Even if McCain is not my favorite Republican, Zer0’s treatment of McCain put a cap on his rude, combative conduct during the entire summit. Zer0, like the meeting at the Baltimore retreat last month, again treated the Republicans as if he was the college professor and they were college students. He lectured them for 115 minutes of 7 hours. Between Zer0 and the DemonRATs they dominated twice as much time talking.

When the Republicans wanted to talk, the exchange with McCain typified how the entire afternoon went. In this exchange, McCain was telling Zer0 about the “unsavory deal making” and the “behind closed door” nature of how Obamacare was put together. It was then that Zer0 interjected and said, “Let me make this point, John, because we are not campaigning anymore. The election is over.” At that point McCain takes it as a joke and laughs and says, “I am reminded about that everyday, Mr. President.” You could tell that McCain was surprised at Zer0’s testiness. McCain then tried to inform Zer0 that “the American people care about what we did and how we did it.” At that point Zer0 rudely jumps in and would not let McCain talk any more saying that the “way you characterised it would get some strong objections from the other side.” He ended with, “We can have a debate about process or we can have a debate about how we're actually going to help the American people at this point. And I think that's - the latter debate is the one that they care about a little bit more.”

Frequently Zer0 interrupted and stopped Republicans from making their point. Frequently Zer0 would say that the other side takes difference from what they said. Rarely would Zer0 specify what was the difference of opinion and took it as an opportunity to ramble on, bouncing from subject to subject with little or no cohesive meaning. It told one that he does not know what's in the bill and will defend it with bully tactics and not giving the other side any opportunity to complete their point.

This tactic only showed the American people that this President was going forward with his plan and did not care about what the American people wanted. He was willing to let the elections be the final word in 2010. He wanted to dominate the summit. However, the Republicans were prepared and got their message out in quick, concise statements that slammed though Zer0’s effort to throw out distractions.

“Get use to it because on the way to the WH Sarah Palin will never diss McCain.”

Let’s do Sarah a favor so she won’t have to be nice to the old fool. Get him out of office in August and she’s free of him. And so are we.

I agree with that to a point, but Bush’s conservatism was a qualified (”compassionate”) conservatism. That was the problem. The answer isn’t another brand of qualified conservatism. It’s just conservatism. The common sense is inherent.

That would have been cool. Especially if he did it with a big smile on his face.

Trust me, I know, you’re right: sarcastic put-downs are definitely a turn-on to individuals with narcissistic personality disorder.

agreed, do the majority of people equate conservatism with bush? If so then a qualifier is needed to separate oneself form the Bush legacy. Esp if the conservatism is going old school.

I suppose you can say Reagan conservatism vs bush conservatism. they have the same qualifier but they are worlds apart on some of the major issues like spending and war fighting

Do you agree with Palin? Is McCain an American war hero?

Maybe he is; maybe he isn't.

But his conduct after returning home--particularly his collusion with Kerry to abandon U.S. POWs and MIAs in Vietnam and Southeast Asia in the 1990s--raises questions about his claim to fame (i.e., his being a "war hero").

Now, I'm going to question that record because McCain seems fond of pulling it out as a sort of political trump card in order to politically bludgeon his opponents into silence and submission.

Is Obama arrogant for criticizing McCain?

Obama is an arrogant a-hole, but I am NOT going to defend McCain from Obama's attacks, and here's why:

"I think the Democratic Party is a fine party, and I have
no problems with it, in their views and their philosophy."

U.S. SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, 02 APR. 2004

"I have to tell you, [Obama] is a decent person, a person that you
do not have to be scared [of] as president of the United States."

U.S. SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, 10 OCT. 2008

As far as I am concerned, Obama's taunting of McCain is justice being served upon an a-hole who has a fairly consistent record of stabbing conservatives and Americans in the back.

I hate it, just I I hated "compassionate conservatism". It suggests that conservative, in and of itself, in not based in common sense. Conservatism needn't be qualified.

I don't agree at it.

The phrase "Common sense conservative" isn't being used as a qualifier. Instead, it's being used to reiterate to those who don't get it, that conservatism IS common sense.

Justice being served to John McCain can only be done by conservatives and Americans. The upcoming parmary and a McCain loss would be an example.

Obama who has no moral credibility to seve justice, can go to hell.

Clearly, Obama rehearsed the line with Axelrod in regards to addressing McCain when it was McCain’s turn....it was suppose to be one of Oooo’s money shots.

The lame Obama cheap shot one liners were obviously role played as if it was a debate between McCain and Zero. Which is why Obama’s incessant “YO, I’M THE PRESIDENT !!!!!????” responses came across as rehearsed and CONTRIVED.

Obama prefers being in campaign mode and making rehearsed tele-prompter speeches with his hand picked audiences. So yeah, Obma role played his diss on McCain.

Can you imagine Bush telling Kerry after the 04 election in a meeting, Yo, the election is over. NEVER! Bush would never act that way. Obama is a horrible ACTOR.

rabscuttle, aka Obama lover says, “As far as I am concerned, Obama’s taunting of McCain is justice being served upon an a-hole who has a fairly consistent record of stabbing conservatives and Americans in the back.”

You will never be taken seriously with this comment. Trying to compare a Prisoner of War, a man who shed his blood and was willing to die for this nation to a man who doesn’t even respect the office of Presidency in that he was willing to present a forged Birth Certificate during the Fall of the 2008 campaign is disgusting.

HATE McCain all you want, but to trash McCain in order to defend Obama is something only the paid Dem bloggers would do.

I can understand disliking McCain's dissing of conservatives, but to side with Obama on this one is petty, and shows an unhinged kind of hatred that is way over the top.

Rabs needs to find a good shrink.

Defend Obama from what? I already called him an arrogant a-hole, yet you insist on pulling out McQueeg's political trump card, i.e., his "war hero" status.

Why is that, newbie...or should I say, retread?

McCain is a scumbag, a traitor, and a two-headed snake of a politician. His military record, honorable or otherwise, provides no cover for his subsequent actions.
