Impeachment FormJefferson Memorial Form

Do-It-Yourself Impeachment

This is much more than just a petition. This is a way for individual citizens to initiate the impeachment process themselves, directly.

There's a little known and rarely used clause in the rules for the House of Representatives that sets forth the various ways in which a power abusing federal official can be impeached.

Only the House Judiciary Committee puts together the Articles of Impeachment, but before that happens, someone has to initiate the process.

That's where we come in. One of the ways to get impeachment going is for individual citizens like you and I to submit a memorial. This memorial was originally created and based on one that was successful in impeaching a federal official in the past.

To initiate impeachment, send in your letters today.

What Else Can I Do?

If you’ve sent in your copy of the DIY Impeachment Memorial, there are still ways you can help.

1) Email all your friends and tell them about DIY Impeachment! This is extremely helpful. 2) Send additional copies of the memorial to other members of the House of Representatives. We’d recommend that you start with your own representative in the House, but there’s no need to stop there.

Instructions

1. If your PDF viewer permits you, fill out the questions on the “Auto Entry Page” within your PDF viewer and the form will automatically fill in the rest of the document with the necessary details. 2. Print out a copy the cover letter and petition. 3. If you were unable to use the “Auto Entry Page” to fill in the blank spots on the form, then: 4. • Print your name/address in the two “From: ” boxes on the cover letter and petition. 5. • Print your full name after “I, _____” on the cover letter. 6. • Print your state after “State of ______” on the cover letter (For example “Minnesota”). 7. • Sign your name and write the current date on the “Signature” line at the bottom of the cover letter. 8. • Write your full name after “The petition of _____” on the petition. 9. • Print your state after “State of ______” on the petition (For example “Minnesota”). 10. • Print the name of the power abusing federal official in one spot on the cover letter (near the middle of thepage), in one spot on the first page of the petition (near the top of the page), and four spots on the last page. 11. • Print the title of the power abusing federal official on the last page (near the top of the page). (For example “Supreme Court Justice” or “President of the United States” or “Vice President of the United States” or “4thCircuit Federal Judge”) 12. • In the large space at the bottom of the first page of the petition, list the impeachable offenses that the power abusing federal official committed.

4. OPTIONAL According to the chief parliamentarian in the U.S. House of Representatives and his deputy in 2006, these memorials do not need to be notarized. If you’d rather be on the safe side, however, there are many local banks or workplaces that will notarize them at no cost. There are also notaries in every law office. IMPORTANT If you decide to get the petitions notarized, wait to sign and date them until you are in the presence of the notary.

However, do not let the inconvenience of notarizing the memorials stop you from sending them. If you are unlikely to go to this effort, or if you do not have a bank account and are unwilling to pay to have them notarized (usually a very small fee if not free at many businesses), then simply sign it and send it in.

Notarization is probably not necessary, and regardless, your document will help create political pressure. The mere sight of people sitting in front of your local Walmart or Grocery store (ETC) will definitely make people take notice. Others will likely want to join your effort.

5. If you’ve decided against getting the document notarized, then sign and date the “Signature” line of the petition that have the bit about notarization on them.

6. Address an envelope. Use the addresses found at the top of the cover letters.

7. Place your return address on the envelope and put a stamp on it.

8. Place the petition/cover letter in the envelope.

9. Mail it.

10. Email all your friends about this!

11. Call your representative and follow up on the letter.

Dear I, __________________, citizen of the State of ______________, and of the United States, respectfully ask your representation in the U.S. House of Representatives through a petition of memorial. In concordance with the Jefferson's Manual section LIII, 603, which states that “impeachment may be set in motion by charges preferred by a memorial, which is usually referred to a committee for examination”, I submit the enclosed petition for review by the House Judiciary Committee (for precedent see Hinds Sec. 2364, 2491, 2494) regarding the impeachment of _____________________. For precedent, I refer to the petition of Luke Edward Lawless, from March 30th, 1826 in regards to impeaching Federal Judge James H. Peck. http: //frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/useftp.cgi?IPaddress=162.140.64.45&filename=hinds_lxxiii.wais&directory=/diskb/wais/data/hinds_prec_vol_iii

A Member may present a petition from the people of a State other than his own (IV, 3315, 3316). The House itself may refer one portion of a petition to one committee and another portion to another committee (IV, 3359, 3360), but ordinarily the reference of a petition does not come before the House itself.” Thank you in advance for your assistance in this procedure.

They have been doing this to us and people just stand by and do nothing. Is it wrong to use the techniques provided by law to put an out of control President on notice?

(Obviously you don't know the Constitution.) This is part and partial. Used and Recognized by law.

what rights has he abused? seriously? unless you can pass constitutional muster, and prove “high crimes and misdemeanors”. and you need a burden of proof so overwhelming that even the partisan democrats cannot deny, then maybe - MAYBE you’ll have a chance.

what you’re far more likely to do is provide ammo to your enemies who charge radicalism, and set a precedent whereby the democrats can impeach OUR guy when he gets in.

if you cannot see that this strategy is not only doomed to failure, but will bring US down, then you lack the strategic vision necessary to prevail.

Do you really think that inaction by citizens (we already know about politicians) will preserve the nation long enough?
Before Barak's term is up this country will no longer be free unless WE take action.

If this healthcare bill passes, it will be abusing Americans rights by threatening the loss of freedom unless money has been paid to a third party entity.

Senators can be impeached as can all govt officials. And it just takes a majority of the “House of Representatives” PRESENT for the vote to do so. Clinton was Impeached!

It just takes 2/3 vote of the Senators PRESENT to remove from office! It’s called a trial when it gets to the Senate. Bill Clinton and Andrew Johnson were the only 2 Presidents to be Impeached by the House. They had trails in the Senate.

Johnson was one vote short of being “removed from office” in the Senate. Clinton was between 9 to 15 (?) votes from being removed from office in the Senate, so it was not close.

A lot of freepers get this mixed up.

We need the House!!

What part of the constitution do I have wrong? The part that enslaves me to another entity (health insurers)?

Intentionally lying about the costs of seizing control over 1/6th of the entire US economy, and willfully attempting to circumvent the limitations the Constitution imposes on the actions of the Congress are not mere "policy disagreements." Are you sure you got the right website?

What can I say that would make sense to someone who feels that they are entitled to OPM (Other Peoples Money)? I buy my insurance - you buy yours.
I sure as hell ain't going to pay for yours!

What in the hell are you talking about??? I asked a person who claimed that we shouldn’t try to impeach Democrat Senators because the Dems might do that to us in the future, that RESTRICTING CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS (as this healthcare bill will do by forcing us to PAY a third party under threat of jail) is far beyond a “policy disagreement.”

I think you should calm down and start reading the thread and not knee jerk reacting to posts. I do believe we are on the same side and in agreement here.

Slavery, as referenced in the 13th amendment, is a narrow legal term which does not encompass such things, unfortunately.

If that were the case, taxes would be slavery as well - an argument made by many Liberal economists, (such as my namesake). Unfortunately we do not, as a society, think this way.

Taxes is forcing citizens to pay for society, even as much as we don’t want to.

This healthcare bill is forcing us to pay a third party/entity (health insurers) under threat of loss of freedom thereby ‘enslaving’ us to another entity. That is a huge difference.

They ACT (while you talk). They love to hear you talk and not take any action because they are undercutting our Constitution. Yak Yak Yak. Keep talking. Watch what they are DOING. YOU LOSE.

I am getting discouraged because nobody wants to take any action. Talking is just a delaying tactic used by the left. They keep taking bits and pieces of our right and you just shrug your shoulders and say "Well I tried". "Lean over and kiss your "constitution" goodby."
