Illegal Immigration: An Arizona rancher is murdered while patrolling his ranch. A gaping hole in the border fence and footsteps back to Mexico tell the tale. When will we put the National Guard back on the border?
Robert N. Krentz Jr., 58, scion of one of the best-known and oldest ranching families in southeast Arizona, was found shot to death March 27 on his vast, remote ranch after radioing to his brother that he was checking out someone he believed to be an illegal immigrant.
Krentz was found slumped over his ATV on his 35,000-acre ranch about 35 miles northeast of Douglas. He was out checking water lines and fencing on the land Krentz's family has ranched since 1907. His dog lay nearby critically wounded, also hit by a bullet.
The Cochise County authorities believe Krentz was killed by an illegal immigrant who fled to Mexico. Foot tracks were identified and followed approximately 20 miles south to the Mexico border by county, state and federal authorities.
A satellite photo from U.S. Customs and Border Protection shows a big gap in the border fence near Krentz's ranch. We recently editorialized on the need for a secure border fence and complained about the dithering by Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano over delays caused by reliance on gadgets and gizmos in a failed "virtual fence" of cameras and sensors but no boots on the ground.
We've also commented on the escalating and violent drug war in Mexico, violence that will spill over our border. Last month saw the broad-daylight massacre in Juarez of a pregnant American U.S. consular employee and her husband, leaving their year-old baby wailing in the back of their car. The drug cartels are serious, and we should be as well.

It is amazing to think that things on the border are as out-of-control-as they are right now. How much more murder, destruction, gang violence, drugs, and fear can ranchers, landowners, and regular citizens take?
I would imagine that a few thousand rounds of rifle fire would go a lot further than any fence ever would.

Amazing how many formerly conservative churches have been perverted by the “social gospel” to the point that those who advocate protecting the laws and values of this nation are scorned as being inhumane.
Immigration done by the rules is fine (except for the anchor baby interpretation); had it not been for legal immigration I wouldn’t be here.
This is an invasion, at a time when we are economically weakened and the deconstructionist hope is we won’t be able to weather the storm.
An armed perimeter is the best perimeter. Its a shame its come to that.
I had another thought- I believe another effective use of public funds could be to provide employment for citizens to undertake the repatriation ( in a humane, peaceful yet secure manner) of about 20 million illegals to country of origin, be it Mexico, Guatemala or Czechoslovakia. Didn’t see that one in the stimulus bill either.
1 - Any other nation that wants to can and does take over by simply walking in
2 - The citizens of the borderless nation become strangers in their own land
Fun world in the future, huh?
It would be different (to a degree) if they came to become Americans; but they are not. They are coming here to steal from our system, to do the whole “Reconquista” agenda, and “recover what was stolen from them”. Basically, to help convert us into just another socialist sh*thole.
There’s a photo someone posted out here somewhere of a group of mexican illegales, grabbing their crotches, flipping the middle finger, mugging for the photographer. THAT is their attitude towards US, towards OUR Country, and towards OUR culture, tradition, heritage, and people.
And the Dems are aiding and abetting it, and actively subverting the country by doing so. Last I heard, that was a crime...it was called Treason.
And its why we need to kick their rear ends back across the border and make them stay there. One way or another.
