RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Virginia Sen. Jim Webb called for ending government-run diversity programs in a newspaper column Friday, saying they have disadvantaged struggling whites and hurt the cause of racial harmony. Webb wrote an op-ed column in Friday's Wall Street Journal that said a "plethora of government-enforced diversity policies have marginalized many white workers. The time has come to cease the false arguments and allow every American the benefit of a fair chance at the future."
Webb's press secretary, Jessica Smith, said Friday that the senator felt the column speaks for itself and that he would not comment further.

Diversity and the Myth of White Privilege
America still owes a debt to its black citizens, but government programs to help all ‘people of color’ are unfair. They should end.

This, as three 2,000+ page bills Webb voted for add dozens of new diversity regulations. Repeat after me, there is no such thing as a Blue Dog. Nearly all democrats voted for the three megabills. All of them voted for 0bamacare. Cry me a river, Webb.
Jeepers! Do you think a certain someone is trying to get us toothless hillbillies to forget about his vote for ObamaCare, etc., in time for November?
Correct and up for reelection in 2012.
He looked at the major electoral shift in Virginia and saw that there is no way he is going survive re-election in 2012 unless he starts speaking the TRUTH. He is doing for political reasons, yes, but never the less he is doing the right thing in this case. The time to end reverse discrimination against whites is long over due.

What? Could you possibly be suggesting that our esteemed senator has put a wet finger to the political wind and realized that he’d get kicked out on his keister if he doesn’t start acting more conservative? Why, you cynic? I’m sure he’s acting from the most noble principles! < /s>

??? Usefulness? When was it ever useful? Discrimination IS discrimination period. Institutional discrimination is grounds for tar and feathering every politician behind the abomination.
It would appear that the political purpose of this is to distance Webb from Obama (and Holder). A cumulation of events from the Cambridge cop incident to the New Black Panther case to Shirley Sherrod is revealing to more and more whites than Obama stands against them on racial grounds, whenever it comes down to that.
Of course, if we look at his actions we see that Webb has been voting FOR the Obama agenda.
Recall that on ObamaCare, Webb asked that the votes be halted until Scott Brown could be seated. Perhaps he was hoping not to have to vote for it, and that a Republican filibuster would succeed? But when push came to shove, Webb fell in line with the Obama radical statists.
Webb views his base of support as working class whites and expects, as a Democrat, to naturally pick up the support of minorities at general election time when running against a Republican.
He must be very worried that as working-class whites as a group begin to recognize Obama for the anti-white race hustler that he is, the fact that thus far there has been very little space between Webb and Obama when it comes to supporting the Obama agenda is endangering Webb with his own core base.
Obama sees the demographic future. Whites will be a minority in the country, and sooner than generally predicted by the prognosticators. In the future, the national politics will increasingly resemble the politics of places like urban California and New York City.
Obama sees that by demonizing whites, like Hitler demonized the Jews, he can cause the emerging non-white majority together with white socialists to coalesce around a politics of hate, and give the Left a permanent majority to complete his desired transformation of the American state.
Webb sees the emerging politics, and wants to get the benefit with his base of distancing himself from Obama, hoping that they will not notice that he has been supporting the Obama agenda every step of the way with his votes.
I know, I know, but bares repeating!!
