weird... I listen to 1210 on my iPhone at work (there’s an app for that ;-) ) and listen all day - beck/rush/hannity.. so guess I will have to find another station on there...

The #1 talk radio station in Seattle, 570 KVI, similarly committed suicide over several years. I still remember the TV commercials that got me listening to talk radio for the first time in 1992. They ended with an animated John Carlson spiting out the phrase, “Hot Talk 570 KVI”. I was hooked. I had no idea there were others out there who thought like I did and much less that there was a radio station on 24 hours a day with that kind of format. I should have seen the writting on the wall when the decision was made to “tone down” the language. They dropped the phrase “Hot Talk” and the decline began.
Popular, Peter Weisbach was booted for allowing someone to say on his air what had been long rumored in Seattle that then mayor Norm Rice was engaging in homosexual behavior. I thought liberals believed there wasn’t “anything wrong with that?”
John Carlson, who became the Republican candidate for governor, left.
Michael Medved was not renewed and helped to form KTTH, a fledgling competitor to KVI.
Then the mother of all screw ups, they let Rush go.
Listeners and revenue fell precipitoulsy.
A week ago Monday they started broadcasting their new format ... oldies.

I have found that hannity can be annoying.... he gets on one topic and harps on it for days.... like the TSA issue... I mean I agree I think it sucks and should be stopped... but he goes on and on and on for the full 3 hours, then the next day... same thing on and on for 3 hours.... when he does that I quit listening.... only checking in periodically to see if he’s talking about anything else....
Who’s listening to what in Central Jersey at night? I have a little radio with an earphone that I use when I can’t sleep. I cannot listen to John Batchelor on WABC every fricking night. I can’t stand his voice, his ridiculous bumper “music,” his pretentious stories. And over on WOR, they have a psychology show followed by a medical show at night. I wind up listening to news radio at WCBS, which does not satisfy my lust for Dem-roasting. I can’t seem to get any Philly channels.
Any ideas?
They will become exactly like their CBS sister station in Pittsburgh, KDKA. A waste of perfectly good electricity.
Since losing Rush they’ve been filling their airtime with Ask The Realtor, Tradio, a train wreck of a local morning show and an uber-Lib imported from Youngstown, Ohio on at night.

I’m glad that one of the DC stations has Dennis Miller on at the same time as Hannity. Dennis is much smarter and much, much funnier than Sean.

I appreciate what Beck and Hannity are doing...even attended the Beck rally in DC. But, by the time the Hannity and Beck shows come on at night...practically everything they talk about is "old" news because Freeper has kept me so informed thru-out the day!
I get more news from this website (in-depth news and Freeper member opinion!) than I could ever get from Beck and Hannity. Most of their discussions are kinda boring by then.
I usually watch them anyhow...because my wife is watching them.
WPHT is a great station, if you like infomercials.

Runs a lot of Tits and Ass segments on sex or anything tawdry to keep the ratings up. Can’t stand him. Never listen. Really self-centered and arrogant. Mr. Political Correctness himself. Sickening!
