Why the Tax Bill is a HUGE WIN for the GOP
12/7/2010

Posted on 12/07/2010 2:59:55 PM PST by GLDNGUN

I don't understand why some people are wringing their hands over this tax bill. Actually, I do. Some people aren't happy to get 99% of what they want. They want everything or nothing. Other people will not be happy, even with 100% of what they supposedly want. They live to be cynical and won't have their favorite crutch taken from them.

There are tax cuts for EVERY ONE. Gee some people are never happy when we get something good. I’m not expecting to bat 100% in politics or life. But I am at a sure win and this as close to one on this earth as you ever going to get.

The Democrats seem to be whining the loudest about this and Obama is talking like he’s none to happy. Now he’s pointing the finger at the Dems and blaming them for not getting the job done while they had the chance.

This is burning their butts!

Actually its another 13 weeks. No one is going to put the unemployed out on the streets. On the other hand, people get to keep their money in their pockets.

There is a lot to be done and this is a good start.

Yeah and Bush’s tax cuts were minimal to begin with.

What people wanted under Bush was real tax reform and all they got was Connie Mack and John Breaux running a commission boondoggle with no passionate input from RINO Bush.

Bush’s terms were a waste. He was better than Gore and Keey and not much more can be said.

+1 We don’t need anymore wins like this one. Sadly, I’m afraid this is what we can expect for the next 2 years. Just remember it during the primaries. ;)

So they negotiate a better bill after the GOP majority is sworn in

Phooey. It is lame. The Taxes stay the same. The spending goes up and the 2% SS deal has to be paid back next year. Lose, Lose, Lose. Unless they stop borrowing, printing and spending it is game over.

This is not a budget bill. It's a tax bill. You do understand that, right?

We win either way, We win bigger if this thing fails becuase then Obama will have to re-negotiate (which I not will take more time OUT of the “Lame-Duck”), also it will put is in a better position since he will have to give more to the Republicans in round II.

Secondly we win IF this thing goes through (without major concessions to the Lib-Dems. which doubt; don’t think the Republicans are in mind-set to do) because the currently deal extends the tax cuts for 2 years for all (in teh middle of a Presidential election..I doubt Obama would be for letting any tax-cuts expire)..or at least it would be harder for him to.

I am STILL for its defeat, but only because we can “barter a better deal from “Longshanks”)!..

Just my 2,

J.S.

I think you're absolutely right about this. The only leverage the GOP has right now is the ability to filibuster bills in the Senate -- assuming they can keep all of their own players on board with such a small margin here (not a guarantee at all).

Next year is likely going to see a lot of gridlock in Washington, so when you consider what the possibilities could have been, this was actually a good deal for conservatives. Keep in mind that even with its control of the House, there isn't much the GOP can accomplish on its own before 2012 anyway.

So who in the GOP will benefit the most from this? Or will it be those who will fill all the new jobs that are going to be created?

??? It cuts the knees out of the House we just got elected. They could of been a contender in January.

If an anti-Gov Palin RomneyBOT like you likes it, it must stink.

ROFL! If only Pissant could read that little gem. He calls me a "cultist" because I'm just about Palin's biggest supporter here. I have also written numerous posts brutalizing Mitt Romney.

In other words, you have not a freaking clue...

No. You think like the RomneyBOT you are.

The goal is to help America thrive .. and grow.

If RINOs like you are for it,it must stink.

How about some tax cuts, and expenditure cuts NOW.

Okay lets go through this.

Taxes stayed the same.

Oops, I mean there is that death tax thing in there.

Deficit Spending goes up (GOP abandons pay as you go and paying for new spending)

PR campaign: Bush’s tax cuts become Obama’s tax cuts now that he has “stopped the GOP from raising taxes on middle class.”

What exactly is the win??

I don’t want him to save face- I want him to Admit he was “W-W-W-Wrong” (Quoting the ‘Fonz’)!

“So they negotiate a better bill after the GOP majority is sworn in”

we could do that too but isn’t it nice to get Obama on the record for keeping all the tax cuts NOW?
