Palin to GOP: Fight like a Girl (An instant classic)
Politico ^ | 4-16-2011 | ANDY BARR

Posted on 04/16/2011 1:56:01 PM PDT by quesney

Sarah Palin unleashed a withering critique of congressional Republicans Saturday, lambasting them for not cutting spending deeper and faster, and saying the party needs to “fight like a girl.”

"We didn’t elect you just to rearrange the deck chairs on a sinking Titanic," Palin said during a rally in front of the Wisconsin statehouse in Madison. "What we need from you, GOP, is to fight." Pointing to the national champion University of Wisconsin women's hockey team, Palin said the GOP could learn from its resolve and “needs to learn how to fight like a girl."

I expect that. Don’t get me wrong — I love Sarah. I’d work for her election. I just want her to be the best candidate she can be, and that means fixing a flaw.

It’s also quite true that she is determined to be herself, and that’s great. If she’s going to be a success, she wants to do it her way. It’s also true that ridicule is a very powerful weapon in today’s political arena. She used it herself against Chairman Zero yesterday and did so to great effect.

I wish her nothing but the best. I just want her to be a powerhouse :)

For the record, “Old White Guys” built, bled for, and died for this country, and invented everything worth inventing over the course of close to three centuries, wrote the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence - arguably THE two most important pieces of political documentation in history. Gets mighty tiresome hearing my people getting bashed. Bad enough from the leftards - don’t need to hear from someone who calls themself a conservative.

I never said we SHOUlD nominate Trump. I said, if you’d read my postings, that WE may not get to make that choice, ala McCain. Seems to me we didn’t “nominate” McCain either, but we wound having to vote for the back-stabbing turd. I found myself in the absurd position of having to defend him out here because I did NOT want to see the current assclown win the elction.

And I hear you regarding Sarah. I like her too. She’s polarizing even more than we already are.

But ANYBODY that can take obama out of the white house equation scares the crap out of the libs.

I am very sorry that you took my statement as a criticism of the men who fought, bled and died for our freedoms. That was not my intention at all. I happen to be married to one of “you” and proud of it.
I just believe we need a lot of energy to face this political enemy and someone like Sarah....or Paul Ryan, Jim deMint, Marco Rubio or Mike Pence for example....would have what we need politically. If we can’ t agree on that, then so be it. I am entitled to my opinion, too.

Compromise is not the issue and is unavoidable in democratic politics. It is silly to complain about something that is unavoidable. You think Reagan never compromised?

Part of Bush’s spending was an attempt to keep the Democrats from becoming totally anti-war wrt Iraq and Afghanistan.

It is also undeniable that until we destroy the influence of the media things will not change as much or as fast as we would wish.

Since she has issued numerous serious and well-considered policy statements . . .

Are these posted somewhere as a collection?

"Compromise is not the issue and is unavoidable in democratic politics. It is silly to complain about something that is unavoidable. You think Reagan never compromised?"

Compromise is exactly the issue. There is a time to compromise, and a time not to compromise. And IMO, it is not "unavoidable" in this situation. Yes, Reagan compromised, and when he did, he largely screwed up...the best case in point was when he succeeded in cutting taxes and allowed the Democrats to get away with breaking THEIR part of the "compromise" to lower spending.

Do YOU see the Democrats compromising??? Have you seen Schumer compromising?? Pelosi?? Reid?? We should be exactly as willing to compromise as the Democrats.....which is not at all.

But the Republicans largely lack the intestinal fortitude to stand up and be counted. There are a VERY few exceptions.

She has such a way with words.

Most male politicians could take lessons from her in how to have ah ... a backbone.

It's tough to be the only one on the field--too easy to be surrounded. Trump, whether he intends this or not, by being out there with his own brand of aggressive attack, draws off the enemy and has Sarah's back in the fight. Two instead of one can hold off the world.

It seems Trump has given Palin the courage to speak about Obamas lack of credentials. She wouldn't do it before Trump put it on the National stage.

Great pics, Ralph.

A dreary day in Wisconsin but you couldn't tell it from the faces, or Sarah's speech. Game On, indeed.

I can appreciate your concern (over Sarahs voice) but this is a rally and this is a woman trying to project. Obama does it, and hits tenor, Sarah does it and hits soprano, Hillary does it and hits screech!

Being the lone lioness fighting the jackals and hyenas on the left, her voice will be higher than that of a male engaged in the same. It ought to signal a response from the 'pride' to come to her aid, but it hasn't.

The grey-maned males are busy preening themselves while Rome burns. Sarah has battled with the left and has the scars- from Couric to Gibson to Letterman to Maher - to prove it. She is engaged and that is what I hear in her voice. It's a siren call for others to act, and act quickly.

That she would volunteer to lead is unique. This should be the domain of the 'male', yet they remain dormant with respect to Obama. As such, many will have doubts about her success as the leader of the conservative movement which will have to undo some serious distortions of the values that contribute largely to America's exceptionalism. Debt being one, the loss of liberties being the other.

When her vocal range goes high, it is nothing more than a sign of urgency and an attempt to project such to her audience. I hope this doesn't turn people off as I too, feel we live in a time where sane policies are urgently needed. And, I hear her loud and clear.

“Our president isn’t leading, he’s punting on this debt crisis,” Palin said. “Win the future? The only future he wants to win is his reelection.”

God Bless Sarah! Will she run? Oh yeah!

Couldn’t agree more. All I’m saying is I hope it doesn’t cost her. A shrill voice can be a real turn-off. Obama’s drives me absolutely nuts. Of course, part of that is what he’s saying.

Her politics are impeccable. And I must say, your eloquence is admirable.
