NEW YORK -- The percentage of black players in the major leagues dropped again on Opening Day this year even as the sport again received a top overall grade for racial diversity.
Baseball's grade for gender hiring declined slightly, according to the annual study released Thursday by Richard Lapchick's Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sports at the University of Central Florida.
Baseball received an A for racial diversity in hiring, the same grade as last year, and a B-minus for gender, down from a B. Its overall grade remained a B-plus.

I thought folks were hired for talent.
But then again, after watching the Obamaloon for two years...obviously not.
They think Basketball and Football are cooler sports to play.

I think society and Major League Baseball has a duty to immediately go on the street and sign any and all black men, women or children to major league contracts until that number is in line to what society and social justice demands. They also need to make sure their quota of 57 year old Slovenian shortstops is also met.
Basketball and football players generally go from college to pros while baseball players usually spend time in the minors, too.
And how about the NBA? I’d say 9% of the players there are whiteys. Are these race pimps calling them out too?
I’ve always wondered what the hell happened to white athletes in pro sports other than hockey .
These race pimps still gave MLB a B grade for the hiring of chicks.
What does Lapchick have to say about the overt discrimination against short people in the NBA?

A Latin baseball player isn’t Black even if his skin is dark according to MLB.
I’ll care when they care white players in the NFL and NBA are terribly under-represented.
Color quota arguments are so stupid and ridiculous.
It has always puzzled me that there are so many MLB players from the Dominican Republic and almost none from Haiti. Anyone explain that?
