A Modest Proposal in Honor of Sarah Palin
grey_whiskers | 10-05-2011 | grey_whiskers

As I'm sure everyone not in a coma or beyond the orbit of Jupiter has heard by now, Sarah Palin announced on Oct. 5, 2011, on the Mark Levin radio show, that she is NOT running for President of the United States in 2012.

This has created a wave of horrified disappointment among her supporters, and anything from euphoria to gloating among her detractors.

In an effort to pull together against the common (liberal) enemy, I propose that all the partisans FOR Palin take a small portion of the money they had been saving for her campaign, and donate it to the current FReep-a-thon.

Likewise, those who were against her, or thought she never was going to run, may I suggest that you, too, make a donation to the FReep-a-thon in lieu of a Snoopy Happy Dance?

In this way, we can pull together in solidarity, and continue to ensure the prominence of the Premier Site on the Web for Conservative Thought, Free Republic.

NOT endorsed by Jim Robinson or any other high-up Freepers. (But I hope they approve...!)

The GOP *does* seem to have eaten one of its own, doesn't it?

We can ALL see the leadership void in the GOP now that she's not running.

Cheers!

I think that’s a fine idea.

Gw, well suggested. Something her detractors here need to be honest about, she’s always been one of us. She’s not going away and is going to not pull any punches in using her loud microphone herein in promoting conservative values.

Well I’ve already been doing my “Snoopy Gloating Dance” as opposed to the slight variation the “Snoopy Happy Dance” but I still think you have a good idea!

Who says she can’t be a leader in the GOP, just because she’s not running for POTUS?

I tell ya, the one thing Sarah Palin has done tonight by not running is bring out some of the whack jobs who claimed to be her supporters..I went to C4P(been there since the beginning) and one of them actually had the nerve to say that she was dead to him because she is not running. I have NEVER EVER heard such idiocy before in my life from a supposed Conservative. Its unbelievable the kind of garbage I am reading tonight. They wanted Sarah to sacrifice her family so that she could run for President. She said since day 1 that she would base her decision on what her family wants her to do, they are the most important thing to her, and that is exactly what she did, she did not lie, she told the truth.
She will continue to be a huge force in politics, she already said she is getting phone calls, I bet they are from others in the GOP who want endorsements.. I wonder which one she will end up endorsing, my opinion, either Cain or Perry, the rest of them dont stand a chance

She’s done.It takes years to build up trust and only seconds to destroy it.

If it was real trust then it should stand on character, her’s and that person’s. If delusional false trust then her character still stands but that person is the one with the problem.

I don’t get the dependency. Palin destroyed nothing if that’s what you’re suggesting.

Do you trust HW and GW Bush. The frontal cortex of the brain deals with trust and once it is lost the brain never gets the trust back.

I will add a bump and an extra "Jackson" to the till for your thread.

I am certainly a Palin supporter and today's announcement, while disappointing, provides us with the opportunity to work forward towards 2012 with the excellent field we have to work with.

In other words ... get over it, take a day, the weekend, whatever makes it better for you - Sara is with us and we currently have the potential leaders in front of us to get back on track!

Watch this little "inspirational" video tomorrow and pull it together for the good of the Country

Make her GOP Chairwoman. That way most people will know who the GOP Chairman / Chairwoman actually is.

I keep getting Emails and Letters from some guy named Preibus or something like that. I would actually read them if the Letterhead said Sarah Palin. LOL
