Perry Says Iran Plot Requires Border Security

INDIANAPOLIS -- Texas Gov. Rick Perry says an Iranian-backed terror plot coordinated in Mexico proves the U.S. must secure its southern border.

The Republican presidential hopeful used Tuesday's announcement that Iranian forces had sought to assassinate the Saudi ambassador to the U.S. to call for more border troops, improved fencing along the Mexican border and increased border patrols including the use of predator drone surveillance.

Perry opened his speech to Republican activists in Indianapolis on Wednesday with a call for increased border security. He called allegations that Iranian forces sought to kill the Saudi diplomat "business as usual" for Iran.

Perry attacks administration at campaign stop in Hampton, N.H......"On immigration policy, Perry said he is opposed to amnesty and will always be opposed to amnesty. "For decades we have had a federal government that has failed its constitutional duty to protect its borders," he said. "You have to ask, are we going to have a president that is going to stop the illegal activities happening on the border?"

Perry said he is opposed to amnesty and will always be opposed to amnesty

But if you're here, we'll not bother you or your parents when you enroll for in-state tuition at one of our Texas colleges or universities.

The fact is Arizona and Alabama's new tough illegal immigration laws are having the intended affect.

Perry is on record as apposing such laws for Texas.

Big Problem for the cheerleader, and I like the guy.

“Perry Says Iran Plot Requires Border Security”

A better solution would be to level Iran.

And since when is Perry worried about border security? It wasn’t too long ago that he said “president Fox’s vision for an open border is a vision I embrace”.

Texas filed a legal document in support of the AZ law challenged by the federal courts. But it’s a law for Arizona.

Most of these students attend community colleges and they represent a small portion of the total 1,700,000 student enrollment of universities here in Texas.

The Feds made the rules, won’t seal the border, won’t apply the laws, tied the states hands, left us to deal with it. So we’re dealing with it. Having these few PAY instate tuition after 3 years in Texas schools, applying for citizenship, graduated and getting more education makes them better Texas residents — that works for Texas.

I find it interesting that you don't know the facts. I guess that makes you the "dope." Perry has always called for fencing in urban areas where it works.

good points by both of you.

...so NOW Perry is concerned about the Southern Border?
because of Islamic terror? from the man who praised Islam?

What did Perry say about it LAST YEAR:

Family Security Matters ^ | December 14, 2010 | Maj. Gen. Paul Vallely, US Army (Ret)

I suggest that everyone read the following report about Texas Border Security:

http://www.texasagriculture.gov/vgn/tda/files/1848/46982_Final%20Report-Texas%20Border%20Security.pdf

It was written by two military experts who each have extensive experience. The report seems long, but one can get the meat of it by reading pages 9-15.

Note the recommendations.

You really support in-state tuition for illegal immigrants in Texas? "...makes them better Texas residents."

Wow!

How about deporting them and their parents back to Mexico and have them get to the end of the legal line?

Crime does pay and far worth the risk and money to immigrate illegally to Texas.

If you want to subsidize the education of illegal immigrants that’s your prerogative. I only insist you cut it out of your own checkbook, and don’t vote for politicians who force everyone to with our tax dollars. Thanks.
