Purpose of FR and why we can never support Mitt Romney
vanity | Oct 15, 2011 | Jim Robinson

Edited on 10/15/2011 1:54:20 PM PDT by Jim Robinson. [history]

Our purpose and goal on FR is to restore, defend, preserve and protect the Constitution of the United States and to secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our posterity!!

The goal of the domestic enemy (the left), i.e., the statist liberals, Marxists and progressives is just the opposite.

The goal of the establishment RINO is to gain control of political power, but not to otherwise rock the boat. The boat continues taking on water and listing sharper to port every time the left takes over, but the unprincipled RINOs do absolutely nothing to right her when they get a chance. In fact, the RINOs actually tack on plenty of their own unconstitutional baggage when they're in power and so our ship of state today is in pretty bad shape.

RINO Romney is one of the worst. We can thank him for being the chief architect of ObamaCare, which if we cannot get overturned and repealed, will finally accomplish the left's major objective of shredding the final remnants of our tattered constitution and ending our God-given Liberty forever (they think).

The liberals believe our constitution is a flawed document written in a different time for different circumstances by rich old racist white men and no longer applies to today's circumstances. They're now even trying to promote the idea that the constitution was never intended to limit or restrict the powers of government.

Like hell! That was and is its primary intent! And we who have sworn an oath to defend it, will defend it--from all enemies, foreign and domestic!

And that's FR's purpose and reason for being.

Romney may be a Republican, and that's questionable, because he's violated nearly every plank in the Republican party's official pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Family, pro-Constitution, pro-Liberty platform, but he's definitely no conservative. In fact his record is that of a statist liberal progressive. And he's a total fraud to boot, with a nasty habit of lying--about everything. He'll do and say anything if he thinks it will help him get elected. He's a two-bit, unprincipled political whore.

Here's Romney's record on some of our primary issues of concern compared to Obama's:

Issue: Obama Romney
Pro-Abortion check check
Gun-grabber check check
Gay rights check check
Gov forced healthcare check check
Tax payer funded abortion check check
Man-made global warming check check
Liberal judges check check
Liberal appointees check check
Ted Kennedy pal check check
Proven liar check check
Fraud check check
Liberal Progressive check check
Enemy of Reagan/Bush check check
Enemy of the tea party check check
Enemy of Liberty check check
Defender of the Constitution no no
Conservative no no
Works across the aisle no yes
Architect of ObamaCare no yes
Domestic Enemy check check
Useful idiot check check

All of the above plus much more is documented in the RomneyTruth files on FR. Click the RomneyTruthFile keyword at the top of the main page. Also watch the "New Romney Campaign Video" also linked at the top of the main page. Watch it all the way through. I even saw some clips I'd never seen before. Pretty damning stuff for anyone running for president as a Republican.

Let's face it folks, the elite establishment RINO corps hates the tea party, hates conservatives, are afraid and even ashamed to have us identify ourselves as Republicans, feel we are dangerous extremist, racist, bigoted bible thumping, gun-toting, flag-waving neanderthals. The tea party is the best thing to happen for America since 1776 and our tea party candidates are the best thing for the GOP since Ronald Reagan, but what do the elite establishment RINOs do? They declare us the enemy! They went after Sarah Palin and some of our other tea party candidates with bared fangs and talons. Karl Rove and company were and continue to be as nasty and shameless on the attack as the nastiest lying liberal. Sarah Palin was the most exciting new face in GOP politics in a century and would have been a landslide 57 state victory over the corrupt, lying Marxist/progressive Obama. But the good ol' boys, i.e., the elite establishment corrupt crony capitalist GOP bastards could have none of that. Instead, they've opted to go all in with a corrupt, lying statist/progressive of their own: Willard (the Rat) Romney.

Well, good luck getting the Rat elected without the committed grassroots, pro-life, pro-constitution conservatives or the majority of the tea party.

FR, for one, will not play that game. NO MORE RINOS!!

No Romney. NOT ON FR!! NOT ON MY WATCH!!

Should Romney be "the one," I'll vote for the down-ticket conservatives on the ballot, but I will not vote for an abortionist, gay-rights pushing, gun-grabbing, global-warming advocating, big government healthcare mandating statist/progressive for president!! I'd rather write-in the name of the tea party conservative who best matches my beliefs. Romney is no 80 percenter. Not even close! He's the backstabbing enemy within.

God bless America!!

Long live the Republic!!

look you are not going to sway me, I vote realistically, sadly the choice for president comes down to one person or the other, i would have preferred someone other that Bush, but the choice was Bush or Gore or Bush or Kerry, and I believe that Bush was not the greatest but we are way better off than we would have been with Gore or Kerry, the same way I feel about Romney
so go get a real conservative candidate nominated and i will vote for him or her, but if the choice comes to obama or romney I will take romney every time

Haven’t told anyone who to vote for, but I am continuing to state my purpose and goals for this pro-life conservative web site and one of them is and has always been to oppose leftist politicians. We’re not going to set this aside simply because some dumb ass leftist clown has an “R” after his name and now lies 24/7 about hist leftist record. Romney is a cancer on the GOP, is no conservative and would be a cancer on America., There will be no campaign for Romney on FR!! If that’s what you wish to do, you’ll have to do it elsewhere. And don’t preach to me about constitutional rights on my own personal property!

If you wish to exercise your constitutional free speech rights to support abortionist, gay rights pushing, big government healthcare mandate loving, gun grabbing, socialist, lying political whores, by all means open up your own web site and preach it, brother. I won’t stand in your way. But you won’t be preaching it here!!

>>The RuPaulistas are like bedbugs in the mattress of Free Republic, and need to be fumigated!

I usually enjoy your posts. Your statement above does little to maintain the quality of Free Republic. Why do you have to resort to insults for other FR posters who back a different Republican candidate?

Sarah Palin was my initial choice, but since she decided not to run, I am now considering Cain and Paul. As I look into their positions, I try to see how their positions line up with the Constitution.

Right now, I love Cain’s character and leadership. Man, can that man give powerful speeches! I do not, however, want a new area that the Federal Govt can tax. I think it was @ FR that someone posted 9+9+9 + 5yrs= 20+20+20 Another thing that concerns me is when he said he would appoint Volker to head the Fed Reserve.

With Ron Paul, I love his economic positions. I am trying to further understand his position with respect to foreign affairs. At first it seems ridiculous. Yet, we do seem to be in so many countries fighting so many wars, with unclear reasons/justifications in many (but not all) instances.

I imagine we would be much better than Obama with either candidate.

I just don’t think it’s appropriate to insult other FReepers who hold differing views.

I call it as I see it, and the RuPaulistas are exactly as I described them and I stand by my post.

Sarah Palin was my initial choice, but since she decided not to run, I am now considering Cain and Paul. As I look into their positions, I try to see how their positions line up with the Constitution.

Oh Ron Paul is the man when it comes to the Constitution, although it's the Constitution of 1901.

I'm not here to defend 9-9-9, do the research and then ask yourself why the founder of the Laffer Curve (which is what Reaganomics was based on) has endorsed '9-9-9'. As for who he would appoint to head up the Federal Reserve, that train hasn't even pulled into the station yet, let alone blown the whistle to leave the station.

With Ron Paul, I love his economic positions.

Do you love that 214 million dollar earmark he voted for back in June that benefited what is commonly referred to as 'Big Pharma'?

I am trying to further understand his position with respect to foreign affairs. At first it seems ridiculous. Yet, we do seem to be in so many countries fighting so many wars, with unclear reasons/justifications in many (but not all) instances.

Ron Paul is an apologist for the Iranian mullahs, and had he been President in 2001, it is questionable that we would have gone into Afghanistan without a formal declaration of war, and Saddam Hussein would still be in power and sending President Paul Ramadan Cards each December.

I imagine we would be much better than Obama with either candidate. I just don’t think it’s appropriate to insult other FReepers who hold differing views.

>>Oh Ron Paul is the man when it comes to the Constitution, although it’s the Constitution of 1901.<<

I wasn’t aware that we had a different Constitution than in 1901 and I don’t believe in a “living constitution”, like liberals.

>>I’m not here to defend 9-9-9, do the research and then ask yourself why the founder of the Laffer Curve (which is what Reaganomics was based on) has endorsed ‘9-9-9’. I am aware of the Laffer Curve. Without a repeal of the 16th, replaced with a permanent “9-9-9” amendment, it would be an “open door” to corrupt politicians for a 20-20-20 plan.

>>Do you love that 214 million dollar earmark he voted for back in June that benefited what is commonly referred to as ‘Big Pharma’?<<

Well, actually, yes, I do. If Ron Paul did not earmark that money, it would have defaulted to Obama to spend as he please. I thought this topic had been thoroughly discussed already, so I am puzzled as to why this half-truths keep being posted about earmarks.

>>”Politics ain’t beanbag” ~ Finley Peter Dunne<<

Well, it is my belief that, in general, it is easy to throw insults. It takes more thought and energy to formulate substantive thought and communicate those thoughts with non-insulting words. This is, after all, Free Republic and not DU.

Whatever. You started this exchange with the comment that you "usually enjoyed my posts" so chalk these two up to being not so enjoyable, continue to do your research, and decide as you wish. I'll call the Paulbots 'bedbugs' and you can call them nice cuddly little kewpie dolls, is that ok with you?

(btw, the Constitution of 1901 in fact WAS different than the current Constitution, I suggest you take a look at Amendments 16 through 27?)

Since this isn’t “beanbag”, I guess as long as JR doesn’t mind, you can continue to call whoever whatever. I’ll call Ron Paul supporters “Ron Paul supporters”, and leave the name-calling to others.

>>(btw, the Constitution of 1901 in fact WAS different than the current Constitution, I suggest you take a look at Amendments 16 through 27?) <<

I have read all of the Amendments, thanks, and I’m not sure what your point is, or what it has to do with Ron Paul. Of course, you know the Federal Reserve Act is not part of the constitution, nor is the War Powers Act, the Patriot Act, the TSA, and a zillion other usurpations. Well.. at least we both like The Herminator!

The republican party is all for big government, more government and spending other people’s money...they just want to be the ones in charge of it. They gotta go. We must clean house. Primaries are our last hope.

Hardly. Even seeing a picture of him has about the same effect as a clogged toilet. And then Christie went for this creep. All I can figure is Christie wants out of politics and this was a good way to lose supporters....and it worked!

I did the same thing, I voted for Palin, not McCain. But McCain had already thrown the election at that point, so it was for me a vote knowing we had already been screwed over by McCain.

And now look how we are paying for it.
