Glen Beck Vigorously Insisting Mormans are Christians.
ROCKLOBSTER

Posted on 02/22/2012 3:28:43 PM PST by ROCKLOBSTER

This morning Glen Beck was discussing "what is a Christian" and used the full title of the LDS Church as proof they are Christians, not some whacked out cult based on a modern day "prophet".

He also spoke of how Soros thinks of himself as a god.

As a disclaimer, every member of that church that I've ever met was a clean living, humble and generous person...but that doesn't make them Christians.

Actually, ALLAH just means GOD in Arabic.

No, it means Nazi Moon God. (even I have more credibility than Wikipedia)

Beck also stated today that Ghandi is in heaven with Jesus.

But what he didn't state is that is ONLY after his death Ghandi was baptized, confirmed into the mormon church, underwent by proxy all the arcane manmade mormon temple rituals that mormons believe bind God. Otherwise, Ghandi would not be allowed into the presence of God/Jesus.

“I find that practice to be an abomination.”

...besides the fact that it is totally ineffective.

thanks for the info.. I just assumed since Ghandi “lived a good life with good works” Beck believed he was saved. I forgot about the mormon doctrine angle.

You sure have a lot of time for posting snarks about people who don’t believe just the way you think they should. All this research, finding and posting these excerpts, making little cracks and jokes, highlighting the words you specially like, finding the flaws in other Freepers’ thinking—this must have taken hours and hours. And here we are the next morning, and you’re still at it. It makes me wonder why you’re so obsessed with Mormons, and with the incorrect thinking of the rest of us. Might be a good idea to devote some of that time to prayer instead.

The Mormon church saved Beck’s life that is all that matters, Beck is a great person inside and out. He believes we as a people need to save and help each other NO GOVERNMENT he also puts his money where his mouth is. I know a lot of you bash Beck constantly I TOTALLY DISAGREE Beck speaks the truth and has brought our corrupt government and money to the light of day!!!!!

Sincerely,

Glenn Beck's Mommy

No wonder Glenn Beck supports Romney; Joseph Smith and Romney have a lot in common.

Stupid comparison. If you want to pick a particular Christian denomination, there are over 300 brands out there which want your business. You can narrow them down with an evaluation at beliefnet.org, pick up one of the comparative religion books by Leo Rosten (a Jewish boy, but very analytical and fair) or even go to the denomination's own website so you can get a reality view of what they actually believe rather than a distorted view from your local pastors, the more irrational of whom are usually more concerned about losing a part of their revenue and influence stream than they are about your soul.

However, as you probably know, my statement (and Glen Beck's) isn't based on making a theological purity test. It is based on the need to make political alliances to advance a freer and more moral America. This includes making alliances with people who share your vision of a more moral America but with whom you may have strong theological disagreements. Conservative Catholics seem to get that. So do rational Evangelicals. And Conservative Jews. And even the small subset of Pro-American Muslims out there who, believe it or not, actually exist. Plus, of course, Mormons, who vote more conservatively than any of the foregoing groups. You don't throw rocks at and drive away people who are on your side even if you disagree with their theology.

Ask Andrew Jackson how the Battle of New Orleans would have turned out if he had made anti-piracy law enforcement a bigger priority than defeating an invading enemy army.

Glen Beck simply doesn’t understand the definition of historic Christianity.

Putting the word Jesus in your texts doesn’t make mormons Christian any more than it makes Muslims Christian.

They both have christian connections, but there’s no message from Christ about a camel jockey from Mecca taking over Jesus’ movement any more than there’s a message about some New York Stone Gazer doing the same.

Both those directions are pretty absurd when you think about it.

Nor is there any message about Sun Myung Moon, either.

Do Mormons think Moonies are a cult? Anyone know?

The things that make Christianity unique are the very things that make it incompatible with other belief systems. When Elijah confronted the priests of Baal, he didn’t join hands with them to dance around a Maypole while crooning, “I’d like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony!” He challenged them! He didn’t pray with them! When Paul travelled throughout Asia he didn’t set up ecumenical meetings to “dialogue” with the pagans about their doctrinal similarities. When Jesus went to the temple, He didn’t invite gentiles into the Holy of Holies so they could all worship their respective gods side by side. Why not? Because worship matters! Fidelity to the One True God matters! “Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?” (2 Cor 6:14).

Glenn Beck may talk about God, Jesus, and salvation, but as a Mormon his definitions are vastly different from the teachings found in biblical Christianity. Mormons do not worship and believe in the same God Christians do. Read the words coming from Mormon leaders in their doctrinal books:

Glenn Beck’s Divine Destiny: Hero, Heretic, or Modern-day Hezekiah?

I wasn’t commenting on “Beck’s save America crusade”. I rarely watched or listen to the man. I have no issue with his efforts on the political front, he chose to bring his religion into discussion, so I’m discussing it.

IMO, Beck was using his microphone as a “bully pulpit” of sorts in an overt attempt to persuade his listeners that those of us who dispute the mormon claims that they are Christian are nothing more than bigots, as evidenced by some of the comments on this thread.

Funny thing though, it was the mormons who, from the inception of mormonism, came out of the gate with their claims that ALL Christians were apostates, whores of Babylon, etc. They were content to be isolated from the rest of us whores until just recently. What changed?

As to your original question, Google “The White Horse Propehcy”. There is a lot out there on that topic.

I agree 100%, what they believe is their business.

When they claim to be Christian, they make it our business.

" A year or so ago, on his radio show, I heard Beck refer to one’s spouse as one’s “eternal spirit companion.” That is Mormon doctrine. It is not Christian, and in fact, denies what the Bible says about marriage in heaven. "

to illustrate what the real lds view is on women and family... when mormons become 'gods' they will still have flesh and bone and will have thousands of 'spirit wives' who the mormon become a god can then imbue w flesh and bone for the purpose of endless sex to produce "spirit children" because when the mormon-become-a-god creates his worlds and wants millions of little worshippers where will all the new souls come from?

right now some muslims are reading and going "hot damn and ive been murdering jews and stoning arab women for a measly 76 virgins and a cot? sign me up

mormon wives are ant queens sharing their god husband with tousands of other "spirit wives" in the morg empire...immobilized by religious constrictions and only purpose as a breeding organ for more mormon worker/converter caste...in this life and the one to come

"but my mormon neighbors are so nice and i love their commercials"...arsenic in a golden spoon

Agree. The anti-Mormon bigotry on display is disgusting.

How is this Christian?

“Will you love your brothers and sisters likewise, when they have committed a sin that cannot be atoned for without the shedding of their blood? Will you love that man or woman well enough to shed their blood? That is what Jesus Christ meant.” (Brigham Young, Deseret News, April 16th, 1856)

“Suppose you found your brother in bed with your wife, and put a javelin through both of them. You would be justified, and they would atone for their sins, and be received into the Kingdom of God. I would at once do so, in such a case; and under the circumstances, I have no wife whom I love so well that I would not put a javelin through her heart, and I would do it with clean hands.... There is not a man or woman, who violates the covenants made with their God, that will not be required to pay the debt. The blood of Christ will never wipe that out, your own blood must atone for it.” (Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, volume 1, pages 108-109)

When your own prophets say that the blood of Christ will never be enough, then they've just said they are not Christian. That is the truth.

Truth is not hate but your ignorance makes you blind.
