Jim DeMint's Common Sense on Romney
American Thinker ^ | 03/23/2012 | J. Robert Smith

Posted on 03/23/2012 6:45:58 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

For Senator Jim DeMint, the prospect of Mitt Romney securing the GOP nomination sooner rather than later is a good thing.  In remarks made on Thursday that were reported by CNN, the reliably conservative South Carolinian and Tea Party favorite suggested that closing out the Republican presidential contest means "we [Republicans] can focus on the real problem which is Obama."

At this point in the nominating fight, the delegate math is strongly working against Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich.  It would take more than Hail Mary passes for either man to win the Republican nomination; it would take near miracles.

After a meeting with Romney on Capitol Hill, DeMint commented:

"His [Romney's] leadership skills, the fact that he hasn't lived his life in Washington. There's a lot to like there."

Referring to Santorum and Gingrich, DeMint said:

"They can drag it out to the convention if they want, but I think if some of them look at where they are the best thing they can do is maybe look at throwing their support behind the one who might be our nominee and that's beginning to look like Romney."

Obama will crush Romney like a bug and Romney alone will be at fault.

DeMint, translated: “Our near-Socialist candidate is better than the known Socialist incumbent.”

Just a matter of degrees and the speed at which we arrive at the desired destination of those who believe our lives are better everytime the government takes away freedom. How it is named really has nothing to do with it.

If Romney’s going to be the nominee, I hope he wins but I will not help him.

We need to keep our enthusiasm up for the all the downballot races, sweep more conservatives into positions of power so that whoever the president is, he will have no choice but to sign or reject conservative legislation.

“The middle way is no way at all. If we finally fail in this great and glorious contest, it will be by bewildering ourselves in groping for the middle way.” - John Adams

Romeny has had a lot of help. Fox News, many radio talkshow host, and mostly the establishmentarians.
Not to mention the ding dongs who bought into Romeny is the only one who can win.
Completely ignoring his history like they did for Obama.
And, now apparently Demint..???

The RNC is at fault.

We have to defeat the RNC before we can beat anyone in any political contest. Two battles but one has to come before the other

Romney’s wins have been primarily in Obama strongholds at the same time he has consistently insulted conservatives. Add the fact that he’s going to shake off his “severely conservative” positions for the general election proves that he doesn’t think conservatives are all that important to his election.

If a conservative donates one red cent to the RNC, they’re insane!

LOL! Santorum is not exactly what you would call a dynamo either. Obama leads Santo by close to 10 points, and the election season has not even begun yet. At least Romney consistently scores better against Obama than Santo does.

Wait until the MSM gets done with Santo. Most of the General public only knows his name right now. And name recognition is about 90% of American Politics.

nah, Etch’s wax wings will be seared off by Barry's handlers and the Leni Riefenstahl media, and the LDS chosen one will plummet into the Sea of RINO Has-Beens

And the Rom-bots will still blame Santorum and Newt

The good ol’ boys club GOP establishment, after many rounds of golf and salon dinner parties to complain about the frustratingly ignorant noncompliant unwashed conservative masses, have now figured out the only way their great white hope, Romney, can even “look” like a winner - is to run him unopposed

Right you are Lorianne: “Romney cannot win against Obama.”

IMHO, if Romney is anointed as the RNC Nominee, THE main issue in the National Election, Obama”care,” will be taken off the campaign table. Hence, Romney will not only lose, but suffer another crushing, and sadly typical, RINO defeat.

To those who want poster ideas, here are a few ideas for demonstration posters:

Obama”care” was robo-signed by Congress, and is therefore illegal.

Obama”care” was 2700 pages long, but is still being written, but not by Congress: witness the forced contraception coverage recently.

Obama”care” has caused “The Catholic Spring.”

Obama”care” reduces competition, and therefore is illegal by the 1890 Sherman Anti-Trust Law.

Obama”care” is designed to be a US Federal Government monopoly, with no competition.

Obama”care” also is illegal according to the US Constitution, because it violates our freedom of choice.

Will THE NINE SUPREMES notice any of these three violations? I seriously doubt it.

Impeached Bill Clinton proved that the US President is above US Federal Law, so anything that the President wants he gets, regardless of the Federal Laws that he has violated.
