Romney Calls for National Standard Upholding Traditional Marriage [backs gay adoption]

Mitt Romney stated today that he wanted marriage defined on the federal level as being between a man and woman only, but also noted that he backs gay adoption.

“Let me make it very clear, which is that my preference would be to have a national standard that defines marriage as a relationship between a man and a woman,” Romney told Fox Business Network’s Neil Cavuto. Referring to domestic partnership benefits, Romney added, “That would then allow states to determine what rights would be provided for people of the same gender that wanted to have a relationship.”

“I believe that marriage has been defined the same way for literally thousands of years by virtually every civilization in history and that marriage is by its definition a relationship between a man and woman and if two people of the same gender want to live together, want to have a loving relationship, even want to adopt a child in my state, individuals of the same sex are able to adopt children,” Romney continued. “In my view, that’s something which people have the right to do, but to call that marriage is, in my view, a departure from the real meaning of the word.”

So gays have a right to make other people's children grow up with two daddies or two mommies, but they don't have a right to marry because . . . ? IDIOT.

Playing right into Obama’s hands. Economy has not been the topic on the news since this “evolution” of Obama’s.

Does Myth expect us to forget that he has a history?

He’s a bald face liar.

Romney vs. Obama? One of them has to lose, I’ll rejoice in that fact, whichever it is.

And gay marriage is going to be a winning issue for Obama?

The only problem is Romney’s not positioned to capitalize on it, since the whole point of his and the RNC’s strategy was to get a candidate who seemed like he was more pro-gay and pro-abortion in order to get the “socially moderate, affluent, urban” swing voters. So Romney seems unconvincing going up against Obama on this and any voters he would have gotten from that group might be too excited about Obama’s announcement to care about him anymore. A pity the idiot sheeple voters went along with the RNC and RINO media and nominated this anti-conservative loser.

Gays should have the right to adopt children resulting from homosexual practices, not the children of straight people.

Reminds me of Lot in the Bible. I don’t agree with the idea, but here take my daughters.

Gay adoption is a much greater travesty than gay marriage. Not surprisingly, milt has snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

My thoughts exactly. Obama is devious, Romney clueless.

Too bad Mitt, only liberals can have it both ways. Unless of course......

If Romney were to make this election about gay marriage he will be marked as an out of touch candidate who puts the gay marriage issue above the economic situtation of this country.

You really think Obama wishes he could get off this gay marriage topic and back to talking about his economy?

Obama (NOT Republicans or Romney) started on this issue. You wanna get Sandra Flucked again like Rush did a while back?

(Obama has already told social conservatives And America where he stands on gay marriage. Is that not enough?

It's the economy stupid!
