The English do. They kinda like her. Her son and current daughter-in-law, not so much.

British history is a strange and convoluted story. When you add the rest of the English speaking peoples you get the greatest engine of prosperity and freedom in the history of the world. Elizabeth is a fine jewel in that complex crown. Only a few missteps in over fifty years.

As one of the very last of the great world leaders, an exemplar of class in a crass time, the Queen deserves all the honors bestowed on her in her Jubilee year. God save her.

Fortunately for Royal Family, no one ever discerned from Elizabeth’s high cheekbones that she’s really 1/32 Irish.

Yeah, you're right. I mean, other than that single Muslim-protected communism misstep, they're fine. Like thousands of parts put together by hundreds of suppliers to make a Rolls Royce, driven by a maniac over a cliff at full speed. Except for that last step, the whole thing was a masterpiece.

I care. The tower already has a name — St Stephen’s, named for the first Christian martyr. In these times hell bent on de-Christianizing Britain, is it too much to ask that the Defender of the Faith resist this assault on the Christian character of her country, even if disguised as a tribute in her honor?

No: No: No!

Never, Ever name a perpetual structure after a living person!

(That being said, way too many structures are named after
bozos in Congress that greased the skids, or who needed to be remembered by their subjects.

Bad Karma to assume that you are the greatest!!!!

In a Republic, yes. We have way too many things named after politicians and others who don’t deserve it.

But, one of the useful functions of a Constitutional Monarchy is that you can name things after the Royal Family, not politicians.
