Now that the middle east is unraveling under the policies and watch of the most liberal President of the United States; it is time for us to confront what we are witnessing. Their policy of appeasement and make nice, outreach, if you will, does not work. In the typical manner, in the liberal/academic world, the question is being asked, why don't they like us? The answer is simple enough to those who are willing to look at the facts. We are dealing with a largely uneducated people who can be easily whipped into a frenzy on the whim of a mullah (or a few). The underlying authority of these clerics, of course, is derived from the Koran; taken literally. No reformation is possible among these people; the word of their holy texts cannot be questioned - the reason why "moderates," if they exist, do not speak up. Among themselves (Shiites vs. Sunnis), there have been much conflict. This is where we are: a clash among those who'd live as they might have 1400 years ago vs. the rest of the world.

Therefore, I propose the following: a new Iron Curtain surrounding the middle east. One in which we keep them from our shores (an end to all non-immigrant visas from the region) and interfering in our lives and those of our aliies; in exchange, we promise not to buy their oil and not meddle in their affairs, withdraw any troops we have over there and dismantle our bases. And what would keep them from continuing to mess with us? The very real threat that we'd nuclear bomb Mecca if they ever did.

Do we want to go here yet? I think it is a stategy that should be contemplated.

I am going to say this right now, I cannot agree with you more, but you are gonna catch hell on this one and I hope you got your Paulista shield on.....

The other thing, hell we cannot even secure our southern border from a bunch of third world wetbacks sneaking across.

And when these American loving wetbacks get here, they protest in OUR streets, piss on our flags, burn our flags on OUR streets and WE, the people say, “OH well, they have their rights”,...I say, What rights do they have to come here illegally, protest and do these things??

Like I said, I agree your strategy is good, but way too many frog lickers and tree humpers in the way to do any good.

Actually the new Iron Curtain is going to form between the Debtor Nations (Greece, Spain, Italy, Argentina...) and the Producer Nations.

The Debtors will produce a Debt Cartel, and refuse to repay without negotiating more and more generous terms. Eventually they will build nukes and agree not to use or proliferate them in exchange for debt forgiveness.

Actually, strike my last post. I questioned how Israel could have such a low rate. It does not, according to other sources. The whole table is called into question after that. Apologies.
