How Many States Can Romney Win? (Vanity)
National polls.com ^ | Nov 2008 | Various

Posted on 10/27/2012 10:26:39 PM PDT by Private_Sector_Does_It_Better

Are you skeptical that Romney can win some of the non-swing states (Penn, Mich, Minn, N.J., Oregon...) that currently are strongly leaning toward Obama?

Consider this... In the wave election of 2008, most polling for Indiana was showing McCain (meh) with a 3-5 point lead. Rassmussen, who nailed the general gelection, showed McCain with a 3pt lead on 10/29. Reuters had him ahead by 5pts on 11/3. But a couple of "outlier" polls that last week showed it tied. Sound familiar....

Like this recent poll showing Michigan tied at 48%: http://www.myfoxdetroit.com/story/19905504/michigan-poll-obama-and-romney-in-dead-heat

Or similar recent polls showing Minn and others tied or close.

I'm not saying it's guaranteed or even likely to happen. The race could certainly tighten up over the last ten days, but right now it looks like the momentum is Romney's. Next week the wave may very well continue to form and one or more of these seemingly out of reach states could, on election night, easily shift over to Romney's column and result in a 315+ EV route.

Watch Gallup and Rass national tracking polls next week, if Thurs and Fri they show Romney up 7 points or more, grab your board "surf's up!"

Just noticed today that my neighbor (whom I do not know) no longer has the obama 2012 bumper sticker on his car. I noticed it around June of this year and hmmmm.... maybe he wised up!

I put Romney’s absolute floor at 260 and his ceiling at 360. I’m guessing realistically that we won’t get more than 310.

Romney can win 50.

The remaining 7 will all go for Obama.

I think any of those is possible, but NJ is a bit of a longshot. The rest are realistic....

Well of course I would like to see it.

We may get PA. But, I am not enthusiastic.

This "ridiculous" map was formulated by someone on Democratic Underground.

I am just a happy poster.

“That map is ridiculous...California and New York would never vote for the non narcissus”

I was driving around in upstate NY a couple of weeks ago and only saw (1) Obama sign.

If the perfect storm neuters NYC, NY could go red.
