In two high-profile elections on opposite sides of the country on Tuesday, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg was a big loser.

The first came in his backyard of New York, where Democratic voters are on the verge of making Bill de Blasio their nominee for mayor. ...

But perhaps the bigger loss for Bloomberg came in Colorado, where two Democratic state lawmakers were recalled after backing stricter gun laws in the wake of two mass shootings last year in Aurora, Colo., and Newtown, Conn. The NRA headlined its press release celebrating the recall elections, "Michael Bloomberg Suffers Resounding Defeat."

...

"His money made no difference in Colorado, where voters ousted two proponents of gun control — a chilling message that Sandy Hook had no real impact on this debate.

I was looking forward to an article on this topic.

Heh! Good luck finding one in the news sites. They're already burying it on the local sites here in Colorado.

Ah, but "the message" is alive and well among the consultants in DC! Don't think for a second that they didn't get it.

Won by a small margin? 12% and 4% wins aren’t that small in my book.

A terrible night for a tyrant is a good night for America.

Colorado shows the way! Your freedom can be protected through the ballot box and without politicians.

Mayor Bloomberg, thanks for your donations to Colorado’s economy. Now go away.

I know it is a good night for all gun owners. But REMEMBER! Back in 1982 Californians defeated Prop 15, to ban sales of handguns in Cali.

So the Cali legislature has been finding all sorts of ways around the will of the people since that day.

BE READY! IT IS NOT OVER BY A LONG SHOT! THEY WILL BE BACK! Maybe not tomorrow, maybe not in ten years but look out! THEY WILL BE BACK!

Your numbers are way off. The yes votes for recalling Morse were 50.96% of the total. If one percent had swung the other way, we would've lost. For Giron it was about six percent. Historically speaking, these are narrow margins for gun control issues, and it's getting worse every generation.

Pueblo is, and has long been, a union and Hispanic stronghold. Colorado Springs is also the home of the U.S. Air Force Academy and numerous evangelical ministries, such as Focus on the Family. It is Tom Tancredo’s hometown. Yet the defeat margin for Morse was less than that for Giron. Something smells, and I wonder if the brainwashed numbskulls from Colorado College and other institutions of higher non-learning skewed the local turnout to cause the narrow margin.

I think so. The face of America is changing and it's not just the newcomers who are changing it. There are plenty of enemies within.

The numbers I saw were 52-48 and 56-44 and said 100% of returns were in.

I guess the article could have got the numbers wrong.
