My grandfather was a Pentecostal preacher and no we never went to church on Christmas. It was closed. We went on Easter because it is always on a Sunday and Sunday church was normal.

No photo ops, so why would they go to a church unless Kanye is singing?

Why should he, he is not a Christian. We went to church in Chicago ONLY to get the endorsement of the black preachers.

At the rick of sounding critical of this posting, who really gives a crap if this Christian pretender goes to church or not. There is a Christian church out there that remains undefiled by his presence.

That's the aspect that's disturbing. If he doesn't believe in Christianity, I'm glad for the would-be fellow worshippers that they didn't have to put up with Obama's hypocrisy and all of the stuff with Secret Service, the media etc. The problem is that Obama has become so removed from any need to do what's right for the nation or what people expected from him that he doesn't even bother to keep the support of his minority Christian base on board.

Agreed. Have never attended church on Christmas or Christmas Eve. Always had our Christmas service the Sunday before. Usually a Christmas program with the kids that evening or some weeknight before Christmas Day.

But The Obama’s not going at all, ever, is not surprising.

Christianity has no holidays (Colossians ch. 2 ; Romans ch. 14)

More specifically, Romans 14:5 "One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind." (ESV)

The Scriptures know no Christmas

But the Scriptures know the birth of Christ, and to honor the birth of Christ is a good thing, to the extent that the honor goes to Christ, who with the Father and the Spirit is the focus of all worship, all honor and glory and praise.

In the (LCMS) church that I attend, we had a service of lessons and carols on Christmas Eve, while other area Lutheran churches followed the traditional liturgy. I would not denigrate any Christian who honors Christ by choosing not to celebrate Christmas, on the basis of Romans 14:5, and I would hope that such Christians would not denigrate our honoring of Christ by choosing to celebrate Christmas.

Re Have you heard of any muslim going to church? Yes, to burn it down and kill the Christians in it - Iraq, Sudan, Nigeria, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Israel, Sweden, France, the old Yugoslavia, Turkey, etc.

Their definition of “holy” means enough bullets to kill you.

I was thinking the same thing when I saw the headline. If I recall, going to church on Christmas is a Catholic / Orthodox practice. I don’t think either Bushes or Clinton or Reagan ever attended services on Christmas day, so for me, this is a big nothingburger.
