".. a threatened species by the federal government.... "

I can easily believe that wildlife are threatened by the Feds.

The Fish and Wildlife Service proposed listing the bird as threatened in October.

That came as a result of an agreement with the Center for Biological Diversity to speed protections for the bird and other species.

yellow-billeds do share their family trait of nest parasitism, laying eggs in other birds’ nests and leaving their young for those involuntary foster parents to rear..

The October proposal to list the cuckoo as Threatened came after many years of advocacy by wildlife protection groups. A broad range of groups including Audubon, the Sierra Club, and Defenders of Wildlife

And the feds killed how many federally protected tortoises? Nothing more than another federal power grab using another stupid animal as their shock troops.

The Yellow-billed Cuckoo lives along the Verde, Colorado and San Pedro Rivers in Arizona. It also can be found at the Gila River and Rio Grande in New Mexico and the Sacramento and Kern Rivers in California.

Water.

Lots of county and state level in-fighting over the Verde River Watershed.

Sounds like the FedGov wants a piece of the action.

I interviewed a developer an in an off-the-record talk he told me, (roughly), “I’m developing 21 acres of woods. If I discover an eagle’s nest I have to stop everything. My debt service is ($x/week) and I can tell you to the day when I’ll be bankrupt. I’ve got dozens of companies under contract and we’re talking about thousands of jobs and maybe other companies going bankrupt too. All over an eagle’s nest. Now I’d never do this, but the fine is $15,000 for disturbing the nest. So, over the weekend somebody comes in, chops down the tree and kills the eagle. Do you realize it is possible to relocate an eagle and its nest? There are licensed people who do that. But I don’t have that option. Am I going to let an eagle’s nest destroy my father’s company and put hundred to possibly fifteen hundred people out of work…probably not.”

You can repeat this story about almost any “protected” species. Listing a species has become the left’s favorite anti-capitalist scheme. We should probably do away with the list entirely. I read that 99.99% of all species that ever lived are now extinct. I’m sorry about that, but something else will take their place.

So, in order to protect the land that protects the land that protects the land where the birds are found, I guess they will have to evacuate the entire population (except for the illegals, of course).

The only way to save this bird is to allow more “immigrants” into Arizona, tax the rich and end any racism towards Federal regulations!

I would rather we list the Democrat Cuckoo as an endangered species and decide that their native habitat consists of areas north of the Potomac River and within 50 miles of the Atlantic Ocean and south of the Canadian border within 50 miles of the Pacific Ocean.

I would also like to treat them the way the BLM treats grouse. You cannot disturb the grouse during the mating season in its native habitat, but you can take as many of them outside its native habitat during mating season and as many of them anywhere after mating season.

Arizona Cuckoo Could Be Listed As Threatened Bird Species.

Does that mean McCain can't run again in 2016?

Federal officials said the bird’s habitat is shrinking because of dams and other construction projects on the rivers, plus cattle grazing.

These Cuckoos eat bugs and nothing turns off bugs more than cow dung.

I think I see more ranchers being chased off the King's land.

Not another Axe for the Center for Biological Diversity to beat Ft. Huachuca, Sierra Vista, Benson & Bisbee over.
